What do you think should be the starting line ups for this game???

Should Tevez have been called up for Argentina or Maldonado for Chile?

Salas appears to not be ready for the game against Argentina, while Pizarro is in doubt.

More than Salas, Pizarro's absence would be a major blow to Chile's chances.

Maldonado definately should have been called up. Also Galdames is out for both the Argentina & Peru games. He has surgery which will keep him out for 3 months.

I hope for a boring draw in this game

bad news for Chile fans

Chile in problems for match with Argentina

SANTIAGO DE CHILE, Sep 3 (SW) - The Chilean striker of River Plate, Marcelo Salas, announced that he will not be able to play next Saturday against Argentina in Buenos Aires for the first round of the South American qualifiers because he has an ligament injury and he prefers to get recovered for the second match that will be on Wednesday against Peru in Santiago de Chile.

Salas got injured during the match that River played on Sunday against Banfield for the Torneo Apertura.

The doctor of the Chilean national team, Fernando Radice informed that Pablo Galdames of Racing Club will also be absent against Argentina because he had surgery on his right leg, which he broke in the match played on Sunday against Velez Sarsfield.

"Galdames had a successful surgery but he will be nearly three months away from the football fields," said the doctor.
Salas had a medical test when he arrived to Chile and after that he said: "I prefer not to play against Argentina so I can get recovered correctly for the second match against Peru."

Another player that is in doubt for playing against the Argentinians is David Pizarro of Udinese, who arrived with a muscle contraction in his left leg.

Navia and Tapia probably. Pinilla will come off the bench. Pizarro is a centre mid, not an attacker. Salas is replacable to an extent but Pizarro is not

Reports are saying that Olmos is leaning towards having two defensive lines of 4, emphasizing quick counters on the flanks and over the top to Navia and Tapia.

Chileans will have to play superbly to have a shot IMo, especially without Pizarro.

David Pizarro is recuperating, still Olmos don't think he will be ready for ready for the Argentina game but he is counting with him for the Peru game.

The most surprising news out of Bielsa's camp is that Veron may start the game on the bench, it appears that Aimar and D'Alessandro are the choice offensive mids. With Almeyda in the holding position and Kily and Zaneti on the flanks.

Cesar Delgado seems to be beating out Piojo Lopez as the striking partner for Crespo.

Another surprise is Vivas might get to start as well, despite not really impressing since arriving to River this season.

D'Alesandro said that he is not the "savior" of Argentina or the leader of the new generation, who supossedly will take Argentina back to the top after the WC 2002 debacle.

While Crespo warns everyone that the qualifiers will be very difficult and long. He said that qualification is not assured by any means.

Chile's coach Olmos have been giving a shot at public relations. The public is still very doubtful after the qualifying campaign, so he and his players have been trying garner some support. I think everything will depend on how they perform against Argentina. If Chile puts a good display then will get behind them, but if they get embarrased in BA then no matter what Olmos and players say the public will probably turn their backs to them.

The crowd is chanting Saviola, Saviolaa, Saviolaaa!!! Bielsa doesn't put him in.

Chile has gained momentum. Chile is closer to tying than Argentina to scoring the third.
