Libertadores Expansion

That's right!!!

From next year on instead 32 teams there will be 36 teams.

1 more from Brasil
1 more from Argentina
2 from Concacaf

The Mexican teams in theory can have up to 4 teams in the competiton. 2 that will go more than likely to the finalists of the Concacaf Champions Cup and 2 that will continue to dispute the Pre-Libertadores with Venezuelan teams. The Venezuelans asked for the Pre Libertadores to continue since they get such a fat load of cash from it.

The tournament format is still to be decided

I am all for it, 2 more Mexican, 1 more Brasilian and 1 more Argie team this will certainly raise the level of the competition.

More Brazilians and Argies?? Aren't 5 enough??, I think those other 2 spots should we given to others, I dunno, make some sort of qualifiers for them

I guess it's good to open more spots 4 Concacaf tough. May it'l allow MLS clubs in Libertadores. That can have some benefit$.

Btw Guys,

Have you guys ever thought of unifiying the whole of the Americas in one federation??

We couuld use the money of the USA and the flair of SA to be the most competitive federation in the planet.

We would have much more influence around FIFA... and more spots for hte world cup

And we still have the Libertadores (the Yankees can also praise some of it, after all they did have some "libertadores" like Bolivar in there country) and the Copa America is already named after the Americas .... which is the WHOLE country.

What do you guys think?

And i like the changes... the level of play will increase

I doubt it. One spot will continue to go for the winner of the Copa do Brasil.

I think its only can wrok with Copa America and the WCQ, otherwise I cant imagine any team in SA travelling to the US to play Copa Liberta match and their leauge is still running, too long distance!

Brazilian teams already go an play in Mexico!

And it's much cheaper and probably quicker (depending whether direct flights are available) to go and play in Florida than in Mexico!

Plus the Brazilian league only has games on the weekends now, so it would be perfectly possible.
