I'm really getting confused with this stuff!! Like the youth Euro 2000 which is supposed to be under 21 has 22 year olds and i hear players being in the olympic team that are already 23. The olympics are under 23 though so how can that be? I know that there can be over age players for the olypics but the 23 year olds that i have seen arnt going to be over age!!

Some examples Baronio in italy youth euro was 22
Athirson is already 23 and is going to play as an under 23 at the olympics!!

How does this work???

Is there a rule that I'm missing?

Well I hope Chile will do well in this I have tickets for 8 games

Is anyone else here going?
Its the only high class soccer i will ever get to see in Australia

Yes, the olympics is 23 and under, it doesn't matter if the player is 23 and 11 months old. Anelka is right, 3 over age players are allowed once a team has qualifyed. For Chile, its been said, that Salas, Zamorano and N. Tapia would be the the 3 over age players. Chile has always had quality youth teams, too bad most of them stay on that level.

Hurrah for Paquador!

Ok thats why, I didn't know it was 23 and under!! And yes I knew about the 3 overage players I will finally get to see Zamorano and Salas play at a stadium live now!! I have to go to a training session or something to get a signature!

Maybe I will ask the question about youth Euro 2000 somewhere else!!

Thanks for the help
