[BL- Matchday 25] Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern München

Bundesliga Matchday 25
Saturday 05.03.2016 - kick-off: 18:30 CET

vs

High noon in the Signal Iduna Park!

Nobody thought the title race could get open again but Tuchels boys now have the chance on Saturday to really put some pressure on Bayern Munich that were seen as champions already. We could reduce the gap to 2 points but on the opposite Bayern have the chance to increase it back to 8 points. Do or die!

Yeah if we win then the title race will be wide open, we'll have to do everything right tomorrow. Bayern Munchen's got a high number of injuries especially in defense almost all their defenders are injured so hopefully we can use that to our advantage...

Most people will be supporting Dortmund in this one, But one thing I have noticed lately is that its former Dortmund players who normally come back to haunt them so watch out for the prolific Lewandowski

out there somewhere, on some other planet. Because
he is too good and we are just too bad for him."

yeah, or Götze and it seems that he will be fit for tomorrow.
our stability in defence and efficiency upfront will be decesive but thats no new conclusion

remembering the last years match against them, i think Tuchel will also consider to line-up Weidenfeller instead of Bürki

well, some postitions are surely fixed for tomorrow, others remain open IMO:
Hummels, Schmelzer, Pisczek, Gündogan, Reus, Mhkytarian, Aubameyang should be starters in any case.

----------GK?
-Lukas- CB? -Hummels - Schmelle
-----------DM ?
--------Ilkay---CM ?
--Micky-------------Reus
-----------PEA

maybe Tuchel is also thinking about playing with a line of 3 CMs in front of our backline, so it could be like
----------GK?
-Lukas- CB? -Hummels - Schmelle
---Castro-Bender--Ilkay
---Micky------------Reus
----------PEA

that formation would allow us to double the quick wingers but on the other hand we would not be able to put pressure Xabi Alonso or Thiago in the mid.

no comparision to the Darmstadt pitch.

Both teams can expect a perfect field

I'm eagerly to see what strategy will Tuchel use because from what I've seen I don't know whether we can match Bayern pound for pound when it comes to a passing game.....

Regarding the GK position I doubt Weidenfeller will start thou he's better than Burki when it comes to organizing his defense.....

I think both teams will score soLooking forward to the match and I also hope for good refereeing because these kind of matches normally turns nasty, so bring those 3 points home BVB with a 2-1 win

Except for the 5-1 Bayern win earlier this season where the referee allowed a couple of questionable goals to stand, I don't recall any bad refereeing in recent encounters between Bayern and Borussia.

Well that was our chance to reduce their lead but it fell through, anyway it was always gonna be an uphill task to beat the hell out of Bayern Munchen, both teams deserves that 1 point apiece. I'm not sure why Tuchel opted to play Durm instead of Kagawa or Castro who are both midfielders by trade and I must say I was a bit disappointed by Reus and PEA especially the former was just invisible or Joshua Kimmich had him in his back pocket, that kid was just awesome...

intense match from both sides and i think a Bayern win would have been more fair than otherwise. Bürki saved us big time on Saturday against Costas 1vs1 and Vidals shot which he deflected to the cross bar.

Reus was completely shut down and PEA was mainly forced to go wide and therefore he didnt have the best angle to shot on the goal. Glad that we were able to keep a clean sheet against such a strong opponent which will hopefully be the case against Tottenham as well.

Pep Guardiola (FC Bayern): "It was a good game to watch, and good for German football. We had big problems in the first 25 minutes. We controlled the game well in the second half. We did not come here thinking we would be able to deny BVB chances on goal completely: it simply doesn’t work like that against them. If FC Bayern Munich didn’t exist, BVB would be German champions. If BVB didn’t exist, FC Bayern would have already won the title. Joshua Kimmich had a great game today: my congratulations to him."

Thomas Tuchel (BVB):
"We played a very, very good first half, and an especially outstanding 30 minutes at the start. I enjoyed instructing the team from the side. A goal to take the lead would have helped us a lot, of course. I am very satisfied with the team’s performance today. It is very difficult to endure a period of sustained pressure from Bayern. It was important to remain disciplined in defence today. The Bavarians play at an extremely high level. You have to defend very well accordingly. We never lost our shape though, and were never passive in pursuit of the ball. We could have controlled the ball better in the first half. We were a bit too rushed, too imprecise. However, we remained competitive and never lost faith.
"Stay hungry and impassioned"

I am convinced that we will continue to play our own game. We will do that irrespective of the Bavarians’ points advantage. It is always about giving your best performance in each game. I want us to pick up as many points as we possibly can. Next we face Tottenham, then Mainz. Even if we had beaten Munich today, we would still be behind them in the table, albeit by only two points, and we still have an inferior goal difference. We must stay hungry and impassioned. We shouldn’t be disappointed with today’s 0-0."
