[BL- Matchday 22] Bayer Leverkusen vs Borussia Dortmund

Bundesliga matchday 22
Sunday, 21.02.2016.
kick-off: 15:30 CET

vs

back to Bundesliga business. Leverkusen will try to close the big gap between them and us (13 points) and are convinced to beat us after 2 wins in a row (vs Darmstadt and Lissabon). Tuchels boys are unbeaten since matchday 17 (vs Köln) and managed to win 5 of the last 6 matches including yesterdays Euroleague match.

Line-up of our team will most likely be published tomorrow evening, depending on Ilkays state of recovery. All players (except of S Bender) participate in the team-training which gives Tuchel a lot of options for the clash against Bayer.

Bayer 04 scares the hell out of me especially with Chicharito in top form, nonetheless they have Miki, Reus, PEA and co to worry about...This one might end up on a stalemate, an entertaining one of course...

Any expectation/prediction before the match? Why Chicharito isn't in the line-up?

think this is going to be a tie or decided by a set play. really fear Calhanoglus freekicks which might decide this. Still, we have enough firepower upfront and this is going to be a exciting match to watch. PEA is a bit under pressure as well as Lewa scored another one yesterday

I think Tuchel wants to rotate the squad because of the upcoming clash against Porto on Thursday, that's not necessarily a bad thing although I did not expect Leitner and Pulisic to be starters.

Dortmund must pray that Tuchel's decision to make so many changes won't backfire on them

According to livescore.com match has been forfeited. Anyone knows why?

Felix Zwayer, the referee, sent off the Leverkusen coach and told Kiessling to tell Roger Schmidt that he was sent off to the stands. Schmidt refused to leave to go to the stands, he said "warum?" which means "why?" in German and the referee thus suspended the game and sent the players to the dressing room. According to Zwayer, as soon as Schmidt goes to the stands, he will resume the game. I've never seen something like that!

The game has now resumed but there will probably be like 10 minutes of stoppage time and Schmidt and Leverkusen could get a heavy fine for this.

How can a coach be that arrogant? :rollani:

He's German, that is enough of an explanation. According to the rules, Zwayer was in his rights to suspend the game temporarily even though that was never done before, as far as I know.

The game was pretty messed up but I'm glad that the 3 points are ours...

Anyone else surprised that the added time in the second half was only 3 minutes despite the game being suspended for about 10 minutes? It's also as if Zwayer wanted to piss off Leverkusen even further.

The clock was stopped during the suspension.

Really? Well that's odd, usually that is done in other sports like ice hockey but not in football. The commentator I was listening to didn't mention anything about the clock being stopped.

The German one mentioned it.
The clock we see is only done by the TV station anyway, it's not linked to the ref's watch or anything.

I believe you but I don't recall any football games in recent years when there was not a significant amount of time added on following a interruption of the game. I thought that in football the clock never stops, at least that's how it usually is.
