right now, he seem to have a good connection to his first/new team. Think they won both since he took over right? but of course, there should be no doubt who to advance to the next round, even with the Tiger as the opponents coach...

They are somewhere between 12, 13, 14 on the Buli 2 standings so even our B squad won't sweat too much trying to dispatch them...

On a serious note... we have to treat them with respect or else they will shock us infront of our own crowd..

there is surely no reason to underestimate them. it is a cup game and additionally it is a derby, so we should fire out of all cylinders for that match! no experiments needed

jop, he seems to be match-fit according to german sources. but i dont expect him to play the whole 90mins when he starts

via BVB:
Thomas Tuchel on @HenrikhMkh: “He is 100% ready to play.” #bvbscp #dfbpokal

as usual, kicker got the predicted line-up completely wrong...

BVB started with
Bürki
Ginter Sokratis Hummels Schmelzer -
Weigl - Gündogan Kagawa Castro H. Mkhitaryan
Ramos

after the Bürkis error which Paderborns Lakic used to put his colors in front goal , BVB woke up and clearly controlled the match and were finally able to convert some of their chances. Ramos, Castro and Kagawa turned the match with their goals already before the HT break.

0:1 Lakic
1:1 Ramos (25.Mins , Assist: Castro)
2:1 Castro (30., Ramos)
3:1 Kagawa (43., Castro)
4:1 Gündogan (54., penalty )
5:1 Castro (58., Gündogan)
6:1 Piszczek (87., H. Mkhitaryan)
7:1 H. Mkhitaryan (89., Piszczek)

really a "schützenfest" and good that we were also able to give some players a needed rest (Reus, PEA)

If Castro continues in this vein he'll give Tuchel a selection headache, he really excelled yesterday...who's next on our demolition list

post-match comments:

Roman Bürki: “When I conceded the goal it was as if I had lead in my feet. I just didn't want to clear the ball away, but in the end I didn’t do anything. I could have at least tried a trick. I completely froze. I’m really happy that my teammates were able to straighten things out”.

Gonzalo Castro: “Evening’s like this are always nice. It’s special to get two goals and two assists. I’ve played pretty well in the previous games. I’ve been in Dortmund a while now but have finally made it with this game”.

Srdjan Lakic (Paderborn): “After half an hour we came undone. The match went in a completely different direction. BVB showed their quality and were on a high. But that’s the cup for you. We are out, that’s the only thing that counts”.

Thomas Tuchel: “To have over 70,000 fans turn up to the stadium on a Wednesday against a second league team is phenomenal. To score so many and ensure that people go home pleased is very satisfying. I’m happy for it to continue”.

Seems like it was quite the slaughtering. Although apparently the first goal was hilarious. Well done to come back like this.
