[BL - matchday 16] BVB vs Wolfsburg

situation is getting more serious after Stuttgarts win against Hamburg yesterday. A win against the good-in-shape VFL Wolfsburg which are Second in the league 12 points behind Bayern and 6 in front of Leverkusen.

With a victory against Wolfsburg we could climb in the table to position 13 or 14 but it can not be expected after the performances in recent weeks and months. Wolfsburg are a tough team to beat and their defence is more stabilized this year with Naldo and Knoche as central defenders, Rodriguez and former Eintracht player Jung.

with 15 goals the BVB has one of the worst offensive lines which is quite ridiculous when looking at the chances we create in each game. Only Hamburg scored less goals this season.

possible line-ups according to bvb.de

injured players are Reus, Socratis, Ji, Mkhytarian

79.782 people will make the start into the match versus VFL Wolfsburg very easy for the BVB team, the other 885 are from Wolfsburg....

Starting lineup, confirmed:

Langerak
Durm - Subotic - Hummels - Schmelzer
Bender - Kehl
Aubameyang - Gundogan - Grosskreutz
Immobile

Bench: Weidenfeller, Ginter, Kirch, Sahin, Jojic, Blaszcykowski, Kagawa

Needs little introduction, simply a must win here.

Halftime. Imo we have the better chances and have to convert them in the second. Ciro is having quite a good match.
Wolfsburg dominates and has more posession, Bvb focussing on counter attacks

I disagree, it should be 1-2 or 1-3 for Wolfsburg at halftime. De Bruyne has done more for Wolfsburg in the first half than Mkhitaryan has for Dortmund in the whole first half of the season.

Heno has been one of BVB's best players this season, one of the most important in initiating attacks and bringing the ball forward from deep positions. Only problem has been his end product as usual and it's affecting his confidence badly when he reaches the final third.

Such an erratic game so far, I'm almost enjoying it. Immobile has looked much better today though, I agree with Mich. A goal could mean the world for him.

Langerak had a pretty good game in my opinion, the free kick goal aside (which he may have been slightly unsighted for, judging by his reactions afterwards). Made a couple of fantastic saves to deny Vierinha and Perisic while it was 1-1. Deserves to stay in goal ahead of Roman still for me.

Anyways, the lineup and subs were confusing for me, Klopp is playing a pretty big part in this season's failures the way I see it. Kehl and KG are some of the worst players almost every game yet he always keeps them in for 90 minutes whilst subbing others out. Kirch for Gundogan today with the way Kehl was doing made no sense, even if Oliver won the ball in the lead up to the second goal.

The defending for the goals was awful, really soft ones let in yet again. It was nice to see Immobile (best game yet for BVB) and Hummels have good games again, the rest were off color today once more which is frustrating to see. Top 4 chances are all but dead at this point barring a miracle after winter.
