[BL - matchday 1] BVB vs Bayer Leverkusen

Already brought up on the last page Mat. Great news for the club and its future though, without a doubt.

Three changes to the team that beat Stuttgarter Kickers last week for the visit of Leverkusen today; Ginter in for Subotic, Kehl for Kirch, and Immobile in for Ramos who isn't even on the bench. Weidenfeller is on the bench but he's not fit enough to start yet and Klopp said he won't risk him for precautionary measures so Langerak gets another game.

Langerak
Piszczek --- Sokratis --- Ginter --- Durm
Jojic --- Kehl
Aubameyang --- Mkhitaryan --- Reus
Immobile

Bench: Weidenfeller, Subotic, Grosskreutz, Bender, Narey, Maruoka, Hofmann

Schalke already lost today and Wolfsburg also slipped as expected yesterday at Bayern even if they were close to a good result so this is a good chance to get a head start over other UCL-place contenders in which Leverkusen is one of them. Team needs to get off from the start on a good note and set the tone for the campaign ahead, imperative to win today.

Borussia Dortmund 0:2 Bayer Leverkusen

Poor start to the season and it just looked like a case of 'new year, same old story' with that performance. Mkhitaryan invisible, Aubameyang looking limited on the ball, and Reus still looking unfit. Hummels and Sahin clearly missed in the deeper areas to create something. Jojic was really poor and Immobile couldn't get anything going well for him, looks nowhere near building an understanding with his new teammates so far. He will need time and patience though to adjust.

Good win for Leverkusen, they look more adventurous this season and are still solid at the back, think they'll be fine with their new signings and manager this summer, they did good business. Lots of work for Dortmund to do ahead, Klopp seriously needs to find another alternative when Plan A isn't working, the team is so bland in possession when the opponent sits back and creates nothing from open play. It's tedious to watch.

Onto the next.

Kevin Großkreutz kicked out of the training session after a fight with Jonas Hofmann. Assistant coach send him to shower and go home. Always Großkreutz... :rollani:

disappointing start into the season of course and we need to get things on track quite soon. If we already drop points at this stage it can get a difficult season but of course Leverkusen are a top team this year and you can but should not loose, especially at home.
