#11 Marco Reus

Woody seems to recover well from his recent injury and is having no problems during the training camp in La Manga. Klopp is monitoring his golden boy carefully in order to have him in best shape end of january when the league is starting into the year 2015.

his personal situation beyond this season remains unsolved and interested clubs for his services will also watch his performances closely.

Lets hope he stays fit as the BVB urgently needs his killer instincts in front of the goal, either as scorer or when assisting for his teammates.

some papers and web pages in germany report that Reus is set to sign a contract at Real Madrid worth 7 Mio Euros per year. Same as Kroos.
they all rely on a post from "el confidencial".

BVB manager Zorc and Reus agent already dismissed those rumours. there is still no transfer agreement and they still hope he will extend his running contract, but this will depend on the outcome of this season. no way, Reus would play another season in Dortmund without international games i fear

No way Reus will play another year in Dortmund no matter what happens. I can't believe a single person would still have real hope for this.

Have to say this is quite a sensation. Congrats and well done. Didn't imagine this was possible.

And I really don't want to spoil the party by saying something negative, so I will try to make it sound as objective as possible: I read conspiration theories that people think he signed with a Barca-buyout-clause for the time after their transfer ban. To me that could be true but I don't really believe that myself.

Anyway, good for the Bundesliga, good for Dortmund, good for the player itself (as I am not a friend of Germans playing abroad - they will always be valued more in their homecountry than anywhere else). Overall a happy day.

didnt see this coming either, especially in those times the BVB is in.. possible that he signed the contract with a specific clause but as you said it is good for the club, the bundesliga and hopefully for himself as well. he now can totally focus on his tasks with dortmund for this year which really is a good sign.

Fantastic news, so great to see a world class player like him decide to stay on with the club even in a difficult moment even though he could easily go for money/trophies elsewhere. Reus has proven his loyalty to the club since the day he got here and he's done so again. Kudos Marco.

Further good news on top of this is that it was announced during his renewal that now no Dortmund player left in the squad has a release clause in their contract. Hopefully those days are gone and we'll see Zorc/Watzke be more willing to pay higher salaries to star players instead of opting for the cheap approach. That's the way they need to go about it if Dortmund is to keep ahold of such players and sustain a long term future as a strong team in Germany and Europe.

Really good day for the club though, glad we'll get to enjoy Reus longer now unless someone comes in with a 70-80M euro offer anytime soon.

I would say it's quite safe now as I would guess he needs at least one full season of being injury free for a club to go for such an offer. I think he has gotten the stigma of being injury prone in the last years. He really needs to get that sorted out as he could be even better when not being set-back with injuries every couple of months.

after watchin his interview i honestly dont believe he has any kind of pre-agreement with another club. he is 100% BVB bound without a backdoor exit well done!

Also why would Reus want to change to a weaker club?

Well, on a serious note, what has Liverpool been better at in the last 5 years compared to Dortmund ON the pitch? Of course they have more money, but then again probably Stoke has more money than all the Bundesliga sides.
