so the Tuchel theory was not too far-fetched..
i could understand both Klopp and the BVB to end the work after 7 years.

It would be the next big transfer/personal mess Dortmund makes. 20+m contract for Tuchel is just plain stupid. I am not even sure he will survive the first year and then they will be stuck with having to pay him out. How can you make such contracts? That is ruining the club.

Now of course Tuchel can work out, I am not ruling that possibility out at all, but then you can always extend a 2-year contract with another one... No need to go all in without being sure you really have good cards. :rollani:

i agree, it is not wise to make such long-term contracts with a coach. other thing which alternatives are on the market? so i think Tuchel (if he really is the option) just plays his cards very well

so, Kloppo wont fulfill his contract which would run until 2018 and will leave the club end of this season. He has no intention to have a sabatical break but officially said that he did not have any contact to another club up to now.

no comments from the BVB on Tuchel rumours or anything else.

I guess the way this season has gone, has lead him to think he has done all he can at Dortmund.

I saw the news when I woke up yesterday morning. Even though I'd like to say I'm not shocked given how this season has panned out and very little progress has been made even from our worst spells, I can't because I'd be lying. It surprises me that he's decided to go this way even if I think it's best for the club for both to go separate ways after such a disappointing season. Klopp is the man who made me fall in love with this team and I will always fondly remember him for what he's achieved with the club since his arrival, even if things aren't ending on the best note for him. I feel exactly like I did when Pep left Barca, it's just tough to take after such a great era but it's part of football and life. It was a great ride.

As for Tuchel, I think it's a very good choice and he was probably my favorite to take over if Klopp left. He's one of the smartest managers in the league, currently unemployed, did a very good job with Mainz the last few years, and shares a lot of similarities with Klopp's style but is more tactically flexible which is exactly what we need at this point. I hope and think he's ready for the task, I'm all behind this decision even if I do think we're overpaying him if the reported figures are true.

yeah, it is official.

BVB appoint former Mainz Manager Thomas Tuchel as their new coach starting with the new season

Eight-time German champions Borussia Dortmund have appointed Thomas Tuchel as their new head coach from 1 July 2015, with the 41-year-old putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.

The club will officially unveil the new coach in the week that follows the end of the season and it is hoped the public will understand that none of the parties involved will address the matter until then.

for me personally he is the best choice out there. of course it is quite dangerous as many of the fans just expect the same spectacle when Klopp was joining but now Tuchel has the right club to prove if he is a very good coach or just an average one.

Could have been a bit better perhaps, but pretty good overall and gives the team a chance of getting off to a strong start under Tuchel which could boost their confidence for the rest of the season. Schedule does look a bit heavy post-Darmstadt though in both the fall and spring, it'll be important to rack up as many points as possible prior to that if expectations of challenging for a top 4 spot are going to be realistic enough to aspire to.

The draw for the Europa League third qualifying round was made yesterday and it was revealed that we'll play the winner of AC Wolfsberger (Austria)/Shakhtyor Soligorsk (Belarus) from the second round. Wolfsberger won the first leg 1-0 away from home, return leg is this upcoming Thursday.

Pretty good draw considering Wolfsberger are in Austria which is a short distance travel which is ideal really, especially when considering that clubs from Armenia and Azerbaijan were also possibilities and those would have been long journeys which could take their toll on the players already early on in the season having just got back from Asia recently and then having to basically travel half of Europe again in that case. Satisfied with the outcome.

I don't think we'll have any problems beating them home and away though we'll have to take each game seriously...
