Bert van Marwijk: Mission impossible at Dortmund?

What have your first impressions of him been?

His start hasn't been all that great and who's been taking the blame for it? the players or him?

It was always going to be one hard ride with no money, big expectations for such a big club and some pretty average players, I guess. Shame since I like van Marwijk even though he had his faults at Feyenoord too.

No one cares about Borussia Dortmund nowadays?!

Just because a manager from a superior footballing nation ( ) is in charge p , doesn't mean that you didn't have to all run away

Van Marwijk took over the bridge of a sinking ship. Dortmunds problems are anything but his fault. I'm still wondering how the Dortmund sports management convinced van Marwijk to become their new coach ...

who would you point your finger at?

Is it a disruptive player just like Bobic a bit at Hertha to Huub Stevens? or just mainly because the players aren't good enough and thanks to Dortmunds debts, van Marwijk can do nothing about it

Win against the ever so unpredictable Leverkusen yesterday hope they can keep it up!

Certainly part of it has to do with the players. Sure, a lot of the current squad, like Metzelder, Dede, Rosicky, Koller, and so forth, won the title in 2001/02, but it is also much the same squad that has been underperforming since then. They gave Sammer problems and they will give van Marwijk problems.

At the same time, Dortmund's financial difficulties and poor upper management can only compound the problems.

so who'll get sacked first. Van Marwijk or Advocaat?

Don't laugh to soon about Dickie, cause it could be in your interest (and mine too) to see him make at least the winterbreak for the mercato and possible signing(s) of Buffel, Lazo or Sonck.

Yep that's true.

and hopefully Bert will have a look at Mtiliga too since he afterall was the man who discovered him!..........probably won't be let go of since Gullit's seemingly a fan of him too. (his great mentality etc)
ah well, maybe Paauwe then, anyone?

Nah, he couldn't even get his real son-in-law to Dortmund so I wouldn't see much hope for you that he will get his pseudo son-in-law. Unless Feyenoord is willing to clear the debts of BD with that transfer.

Do you think that Borussia Dortmund will be relegated at the end of the season?

Although they seem to be just narrowly avoiding relegation, a decent run by Hansa Rostock coupled with a slip up by BVB could land them in the 2.Bundesliga

Bert Van Marwijk: legend in the making???

could we now change it to that you reckon?

who'd have thought that it'll all come good and with the Czech duo staying and some decentish signings for little money like Smolarek, Gentenaar and Buckley, can we be seeing the grey fox go for the title next season since lets not forget Dortmund probably had the bext 2nd half to a season ever.
