Need to know:
Bruma has been coveted by Premier League clubs in the past, with both Chelsea and City considering an offer for him in 2010. Since then his steady progress has continued, and after becoming a full member of the Portugal U-19 Squad, City are ready to launch a move for the forward before they're beaten to the punch. At home team Sporting, he's the latest young player to land the tag of the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo', though he has yet to make an appearance for their first team. Portuguese media outlet A Bola claim that Roberto Mancini has personally requested that City make a bid for the wonder-kid.
1) Bruma is the younger brother of Fulham youth player Buomesca Tue Na Bangna, better known as 'Mesca', who previously played in Chelsea's youth academy.
2) Though he was born in the African Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Bruma is a naturalised Portuguese and qualifies for their national team as a result.
3) The forward was brought to Sporting from agent Catio Baldé's football school in Guinea in 2007, and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2010.
4) The player has admitted that he attempts to copy Cristiano Ronaldo's playing style, and his skill and shooting ability combined with his pace are reminiscent of the former Manchester United man.
