Souleymane Coulibaly

This 16-year old striker from Ivory Coast has already broken U17 World Cup goalscoring record after only the group stage matches and showed an amazing performance vs Brazil especially this overhead kick goal. Apparently Real Madrid already wants to sign him from Siena.
Looks like an interesting prospect...of course he has already been compared to Drogba although from what I've seen from him they are not very similar players.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? Siena in Italy

BTW this thread might have a good troll potential too because he's from Africa so soon enough there will be people saying there's no way a 16-year old could be so good and he must be several years older than that

That would be a great way to kill his career. In particular for a striker.

maybe they would loan him out for the first few seasons so he could get regular playing time

they did it with Eto'o and he turned out alright although he never broke into Real's first team

He's nothing like Drogba though, don't understand the comparsion but I suppose if you're from a certain country, then you'll be touted as the next "star in your country"..

There's a couple of things about Coulibaly; he's strong, but he isn't just using his strength, he's also got good individual ability and he's solid technically. The best part about his game is clearly that he shoots with both his feet, although it may have seemed very easy at times against Denmark and Brazil, mostly due to their rather pathetic defending, I'd say that he's a fantastic finisher. When you're finishing with both your feet, then you've got a gift and it's usually the trademark of a great goalscorer.

I'll still give it two years or so before actually making something out of him because I've seen all too many casualties a year or two after they had success on this level.

Going to Real Madrid would be the worst move ever.
He should sign with a mid-level club in one of the Top 4 leagues.

He's retarded (or immature which considering his age wouldn't be a surprise) if he goes to a big club this soon.

He certainly seems quite skilled but it'll be interesting to see how he would do when he isn't playing against 16-17 year olds.

Every promising player in the world is in the RM short-list (according to the press). But that doesnīt mean they are gonna sign all of them.

Na dude's 16.. youth/reserves for sure.

Great pickup, even if it's after 4 games of watching him... hope the kid makes it.

I must admit, the Spurs have made a nice signing. He was absolutely tearing up defenses at the latest WC. But I only wonder if he could do the same when playing with older men in the best league in the world.
