LighbBulb The Rumble in the Jungle: England vs Italy 14/06

weather will be 34 degrees C and the pitch in the state of the art almost completed stadium is practically unplayable after heavy rains

however that's all irrelevant, what matter's is that Roy's Boys will give Italy a royal ass-whooping

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? The playing surface is noticeably dry and sandy and particularly bare around one of the goals, with large yellowing areas of turf.

The rest of the stadium is not completely finished, with naked power cables dangling from the walls of the changing rooms and workers still applying a final coat of asphalt outside the ground. Several security doors are also waiting to be fitted at the stadium where a construction worker died last year after falling from the roof.

€250M well spent

I can't see anyone winning this. It will end in a draw. Both teams will score. Both teams will scrap their easy chances. Both keepers will do well to block other not-so-easy chances. That is all.

Official Rhizoid Prediction: Italy 1-1 England.

Don't lament the treachery of time;
long have dogs danced over the carcasses of lions.

Don't suppose that their dancing raises them above their masters;
for dogs remain dogs, and lions remain lions.

Insult me as you wish;
For my silence to the depraved is a response.

It's not that I have no response, but;
A lion does not reply to a dog.

The Italy forum has more pages than we have posts.

Without it gravity is just gravy.

I just added up the ages of England probable starting XI against Italy probable starting XI.

England's 'youngsters' total age 302 years (27.45)

Italy's 'dinosaurs' total age 306 years (27.81)

.36 difference

"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!"

Without it gravity is just gravy.

A lot of people are unaware, but England improved about a year ago. They might do well in this tournament.

Prediction: Italy will be the better team, and it’ll end in a draw.

Possible Italy Formations and Starting XI:

(4-1-4-1)

Buffon

Darmian -- Barzagli - Chiellini - De Sciglio
De Rossi
Verratti ----------- Pirlo

Candreva ------------------ Marchisio

Balotelli

^With De Rossi playing deep, almost as a sweeper (like under Luis Enrique), and Verratti making forward runs

(4-3-2-1)

Buffon

Darmian -- Barzagli - Chiellini - De Sciglio

De Rossi - Pirlo - Verratti

Candreva ------- Marchisio

Balotelli

Subs: Insigne (or Cerci or both) and Immobile will likely enter in the second half to form the Pescara trio (Verratti-Insigne-Immobile) or/and the Torino duo (Cerci-Immobile).

Key Players: Pirlo, Balotelli, Candreva

Somebody do one for England.

The same team twice, OK.

Are you sure that team is nearly the same age as ours?

Those names I've never heard of must be really young.

Hart; Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines; Gerrard, Sterling, Rooney, Lallana; Lambert, Sturridge.

Would be my XI. Like this.

Hart
Johnson - Cahill - Jagielka - Baines

Gerrard
Sterling ----- Rooney
Lallana

Sturridge - Lambert

If you want to arrange those name into a different formation, that's basically the same then you can.

I'm sure Woy has something far more sinister up his sleeve, though.

3 deaths have happened at this stadium, I predict a 4th with it being the wc campaign of one of these squads.
