Veikkausliiga

Freddy Adu just signed for KuPS

And Mike Havenaar and Guy Moussi signed for HJK, so some interesting names.

Season ticket sales to shoot up?

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

I dunno Not all teams report their numbers.

But HIFK from Helsinki has sold over 1200 season tickets already. Thats impressive, because last season their average attendance in Ykkönen was just 900. This is their first season in the highest level since 1972. The club is more known from ice hockey these days, but they have a long history with football, bandy and other sports.

HIFK and HJK will play a Helsinki derby at April 23rd. They haven't met since 1972, unless you count the Liiga Cup semifinal this spring (HJK had a training camp in Southern Europe, so they played their reserve team against HIFK. "HJK" still won 2-0). The match is expected to be sold out (10 300 seats). It's been a long time since there has been a proper Helsinki derby between one of the big and old clubs. Honka is from neighbor town Espoo, so HJK-Honka wasn't considered that big of a derby by some supporters of those teams.

HJK already leads the league at their lonesome after the first match day They won RoPS 1-3, as other three matches ended 1-1. Two matches were postponed due pitch conditions.

I see some clubs got demoted after last season for financial difficulties, MYPA and Honka.

HJK will smash it again.

The Helsinki Derby highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsmW93bnRzA

Good result for HIFK's semi-professional players against last season Europa League team HJK. Great atmosphere.

Even some little fighting in the streets. The media made too much of it.

The table looks funny right now: 1 point between every team.

HJK should be cruising to yet another title, but they are not. They are not even on the top.

SJK is the champion! It's only their second season in top tier. This ended HJK's 6-year dynasty.

Success for Lapland: RoPS won silver and PS Kemi promoted to Veikkausliiga. There will be "Lapland derbys" next year.

IFK Mariehamn from Ĺland won the Suomen Cup (Finnish Cup).

Dissapointing season for HJK Helsinki: 3rd in the league, lost at the cup semifinal, and they were one minute away from making it to the EL group stages and UCL play-off round, until Astana scored to make it 4-3 in the 93th minute.

Too many foreigners and their showing in Europe was a shambles they never recovered from.

Go Mariehamn!

You sound like Timo Soini I think it's about the quality of those foreign players, not quantity. Some of them were dissapointing.

I forgot to mention that SJK is only 8 years old as a club. Of course, some fans of other teams see them as "plastic-y". SJK fans have not experienced true sorrow. They have only seen promotions, medals, and now a championship

Well, they were beaten by Icelanders is Europe, but still.

Real quality player and athlete. Has scored couple of headers, even thought he is 167 cm.

Also Colombian Alfredo Morelos has already matched the amount of league goals Havenaar scored all last season (4).

Yes you don't need to be tall to head the ball well. Timmy Cahill is the ultimate proof of that.
