Yanks in the Norwegian league

In my work for www.yanks-abroad.com I got in touch with and interviewed (sometimes on the phone, but more often in the locker rooms after matches) all the US players in the top two Norwegian divisions. We've also got two American regulars here at the Norwegian forum, so I figured that it would be interesting to have a thread where we follow the Yanks in the Norwegian league.

Right now there's Adin Brown (keeper) playing for Aalesunds FK, Ramiro Corrales (left back) playing for SK Brann, Nat Borchers (central defender) playing for Odd Grenland and Brian West playing for Fredrikstad FK (wing/attacker) all playing in the top league/Tippeligaen. While Brian Waltrip (wing/striker) plays for Sogndal IL and Cam Weaver (striker) plays for FK Haugesund on the second level/Adeccoligaen.

Adin Brown - played 90 minutes as AaFK lost 4-2. Didn't have a very good match, and alongside the AaFK defence is expected to show himself from a stronger side in the coming matches.

Ramiro Corrales - played 24 minutes as SK Brann beat Stabæk 0-1. He looked sharp, and even made it all the way into attack in the 76th minute, and was only inches away from scoring.

Nat Borchers - sat on the bench as Odd Grenland lost 2-1. He's been sick lately, and haven't been able to play in the last matches before the season started. He is expected to fill an important role in the team this season though, since he was a regular starter and considered a successful addition to the squad last season.

Brian West - couldn't play because of an injury as Fredrikstad FK lost 3-0 to Lillestrøm SK. The away side was not impressive, and could really use a fit West.

Brian Waltrip - played the full 90 minutes, as Sogndal IL lost 2-3 to Molde FK. Waltrip scored the 2-1 goal to put Sogndal in the lead, and received some praise for his performance.

Cam Weaver - played the full 90 minutes without impressing anyone, as FK Haugesund lost 2-1 to Moss FK.

Second round:

Brian West came in for Fredrikstad in the 83rd minute, in their match against Lyn, making his debut for the season. It only took him five minutes before he scored, sealing the deal for a Fredrikstad under heavy pressure. The team went on to win 3-1.

Adin Brown - played the entire match for AaFK, as they lost 3-0 to Sandefjord. Got a lot of praise for some good saves, especially one world class one hands save early in the second half.

Ramiro Corrales - didn't play when Brann beat Strømsgodset 3-1.

Nat Borchers - played the full 90 minutes when Odd lost by 0-1 at home to Lillestrøm. Cleared out one big LSK chance, but was otherwise fairly average.

Brian West - see post above.

Brian Waltrip - didn't play when Sogndal lost 2-1 to Bryne.

Cam Weaver - played the whole match as Haugesund beat Sparta Sarpsborg. Scored from a 24th minute penalty.
