Norwegian prediction league 2007

Monday 9/4 (1. round)
Lillestrøm - Fredrikstad
Lyn - Sandefjord
Strømsgodset - Odd Grenland
Tromsø - Vålerenga
Viking - Rosenborg
Aalesund - Start

Tuesday 10/4 (1. round)
Stabæk - Brann

Tiebreaker: Viking - Rosenborg

Predict the score for every match. The one with most correct predictions will win each round, if there's a tie, the best tiebreaker will win, if two players have the same amount of correct predictions, and the same tiebreaker, the one who predicted first will win the round.

I will keep track of both the overall tally of correct predictions of all players and of the overall round wins.

One point for correct winner, one point for correct score.

I must admit I much prefer just predicting the winner in the games apart from the tiebreaker, scores are way too random, but can give it a go.

I know what you mean, but I think this will help make the game a little bit less predictable. However, I'll tally the score in the traditional way as well, counting one point for each win or draw predicted correctly, so we can see if there is any difference in who wins each round and overall.

Viking - Rosenborg 1-1

Name - Correct Winners + Correct Results = Total

Torkel 3+2 = 5
Orange 3+1 = 4
Jinxter 3+1 = 4
Bruiser 3+0 = 3
Wally 2+0 = 2

Jinxter sort of has the best tiebreaker of the top three. Iif Stabæk beats Brann then Jinxter should technically win the round on a marginally better tiebreaker. If it's a draw or a win for Brann then Torkel will win the round.

On the old fashioned system where we don't count the scores, it's practically tied between everyone with one match left.

Yay!

Will the official winner be decided with the new or old rules?

Before I predict again, what exactly do you mean by "tie-breaker"? Can anyone choose his own "tie-breaker"? And how many points do you get with a correctly predicted tie-breaker?

Your system is somewhat different from what I'm used to over at soccer24-7, not necessarily in a bad way

The winner of each round (the new rules winner) gets to choose the match we will use as a tiebreaker the following round. If this proves impossible because of time restraints I will pick one for him.

What is the tiebreaker? The tiebreaker is one single match that breaks ties. If the two (or more) leading predicters have exactly the same score after everything has been counted, the tiebreaker decides who wins the round. The one with the best tiebreaker, or whoever voted first if the tiebreakers are equal or equally good, will be the winner of that round.

Do you get extra points for the tiebreaker? No.

Why is it important to win the round? That's an essential part of the game. We count both overall score and round winners. At the end of the season, two winners will be crowned, the one with most correct predictions, and the one with most rounds won. Can YOU take the double?

For the sake of being fair and just, we will also count with the old system. That is without counting points for correctly predicting the score in a match. That way we will see who would have won with the old system. However, the new system will be considered the main one this season.

Cool, picking the tie-breaker is an added bonus.

I pick Start-Viking as the next tie-breaker.
