Two Finnish brothers in the Serie A

Two Finnish brothers, Roman Eremenko and Alexei Eremenko Junior both play in the Italian Serie A. Their father has had an amazing career in Finland since moving here from Russia. In Russia their father played for Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow. He has also played for Athinaikos in the Greek top league and Tromsö in the Norwegian Tippeliga.

Alexei plays for Lecce :

Roman just signed for Udinese from FF Jaro :

Have these guys actually played for Finland? Cause if they haven't I wouldn't be surprised if they end up playing for Ukraine or Russia.

I was surprised when the commentator called Eremenko Finnish because his name is obviously Ukranian.

I'm surprised they chose Finland ahead of Ukraine.

Alexei Eremenko Junior is a Finnish international. I believe Roman plays for the Finnish -21's. I can't see BTW why they would choose for Ukraine when they have no connection with the country whatsoever. (with the exception maybe of the heritage of their name)

"I never knew my birth parents. There was a car accident. my birth mother was incinerated, and I only survived because her smoking carcass had formed a protective cocoon of slaughtered human effluence. A Belgian man and his fifteen year-old love slave were looting the accident scene, came across a blood soaked baby, moi, and they raised me to be evil."

I think he was born and grew up in Russia or Ukraine.

Roman and Junior (I think) where born and raised in Finland. Don't see why they would choose Ukraine either.

To my understanding, their father Alexei Sr. is Russian. Both, Alexei Jr. and Roman will represent Finland.

Junior and Roman are born in U.S.S.R. Junior in Rostov and Roman in Moskow. They moved in Finland in early 90's or late 80's. I don't remember.
