I'm willing to bet Breitenreiter will get the sack before the end of the season or at the end of the season if Schalke fail to finish in the top 4 which is a clear possibility. Manager aside, the entire club starting from Horst Heldt needs a complete overhaul.

Dortmund leading at halftime and should be able to control the tie to the end, up 3:0 on aggregate and Porto really only had one decent chance at the end of the half.

Horst Heldt will not be the manager next year, replacement is Heidel from Mainz.

Dortmund and Leverkusen will be in tomorrow's Round of 16 draw, its an open draw, no country restriction so they can in fact draw each other. The ideal draw will probably be the likes of Sparta, Braga, Olympiakos/Anderlect

15/16:
Bayern 20
Wolfsburg 19
Dortmund 15 (+2)
Leverkusen 14
Schalke 11
Gladbach 8
Augsburg 7

Overall:
Bayern 140
Dortmund 92 (+2)
Schalke 82,5
Leverkusen 75
Wolfsburg 35
Hannover 31,5
Gladbach 29
Frankfurt 14
Stuttgart 12
Augsburg 7
Freiburg 5
Mainz 2

Hope they won't face each other, despite me not having much hope in Leverkusen advancing much further. Still it's Europa League, not Bundesliga so want to avoid that.

Leverkusen and especially Dortmund can compete against any team in the EL at this point, I think. I can see one of the two make it all the way to the final. It's impressive that Dortmund have kept yet another clean sheet, their 4th in a row in all competition, 6 clean sheets out of the last 7 games in all competition. Can't remember the last time this happened, they used to conceed about 2 goals per game on average not too long ago. Will be interesting to see who brings an end to this very impressive streak.

The DFB Pokal semi-final opponent, I hope.

Without Jesus, a hopeless end. With him, an endless hope.

Borussia Dortmund drew Tottenham, very tough draw but of course we do not yet know what kind of team Spurs will field, they are fighting for the title, however they easily handled Fiorentina. First leg is home so you hope Dortmund can win convincingly and they don't have to go to WHL are chase a result

Bayer Leverkusen drew Villarreal, tough to call this one, Spanish clubs are always strong in this competition while Bayer Leverkusen aren't the best defensively

When I saw the draw results my first thought was Leverkusen are out of the competition. Villareal seem to take the EL very seriously this year, just like Bilbao. We're used to Sevilla and Valencia now.

Without Jesus, a hopeless end. With him, an endless hope.

I think both Leverkusen and Dortmund will progress but it won't be a walk in the park for either of them.

Wolfsburg were quite poor against Gent, pretty much Draxler won them this tie, they are lucky Gent are worse. Anyway most important thing is they progressed with two wins but they will get smoked in the quarters. Doubt they can even beat the Benfica/Zenit winner

Wolfsburg can consider themselves lucky they had to face one of the weaker teams in the round of 16 in Gent when Bayern and especially Borussia Dortmund had to face the likes of Arsenal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Zenit and Juventus in recent seasons to get to the quarter-finals, all of who are actual decent teams.

Donetsk and Zenit are not decent teams for a CL knockout round. But of course so isn't Wolfsburg.

They are compared to Wolfsburg, they are much tougher opponents to face in a knockout round than Gent. Donetsk have been doing well on a consistent basis in the EL and the CL over the years and Zenit have had some good results themselves. Both teams won the UEFA cup back in the day, Wolfsburg and Gent have done **** all.

First of all it doesn't matter what happened in the past. Milan used to be good, they are horseshit now. Just to name one example out of many.

Second EL and CL is completely different. Portuguese clubs rock the EL and are ridiculous in the CL. Again just to name one example.

My point was rather that Dortmund and Bayern both had to face much tougher opponents in previous seasons than a one-time team like Wolfsburg who got freaking Gent, the easiest opponent in the knockout round this season. You would have to be extremely biased to try to deny that.

My second point was that Shakhtar and Zenit have actual won something, unlike both Wolfsburg and Gent.

Still a much harder team to face than Gent, whether it be in the CL or the EL.
