I wouldn't say Dynamo was more popular than Zenit before 84 but both had good support. As for buying a shirt, sorry mate, I've been living in Canada since I was young. Buying online might be your best shot.
Thanks for your reply. I'd buy online, only I like to see what I'm purchasing - ensure it fits, feel the fabric - especially given the delivery costs. I'd imagine that there's a shop somewhere
in St. Petersburg that'd sell them, given the size of the city, if not several. It's just that I'll only be there for three days, and most of that time I'll be doing other things.
As for Dynamo St. Petersburg, it amazes me that supporters would switch allegiance or stop supporting their club like that. I live in Scotland, where Rangers began anew in the fourth tier of Scottish football last season, but attracted an average gate of more than 40,000!
I read on the other thread, regarding Zenit's new stadium, that Dynamo will be moving into the existing stadium. Hopefully Dynamo will flourish and get into the top flight.
