Terek v Zenit (round 18)

Sunday will see the League leaders face the long trip to Grozny looking extend their lead at the top back to 3 points.

No news on the injury front yet, Ansaldi returned to the main group in the middle of the week and should be fit, I've not read any reports about Danny so I think he might still be out along with Malafeev. No additional injuries have been reported.

We are without a win in 6, will we go 7 without a win?

Let's do this Zenit!

Shirokov, Anyukov, Malafeev, Danny, Bukharov and Lukovic did not travel with the team to Grozny.

I would guess the lineup would be:

Lodygin
Smolnikov
Lombaerts
Hubocan
Criscito/Ansaldi
Witsel
Fayzulin
Arshavin
Shatov
Hulk
Kerzhakov

Or maybe we'll finally see CDG's wet dream where both Ansaldi and Criscito start.

Oh god, so apparently Kerzhakov didn't travel either. I guess Hulk at striker and Zyryanov into the team or something. Maybe Solovyov might get a game, lol!

At least Lombaerts and Hubocan are there.

When Danny is not available, Bystrov should come straight into the team. An in-form Bystrov is a decent player with his pace.

We have only just arrived in Chechnya today, I knew I wasn't imagining this when I read previously we had flown in the day of the game. St Petersburg is over 1500 miles from Grozny. I hope we have stayed somewhere nearer to Chechnya and flown in today otherwise the players will be seriously jet-lagged.

I understand the reasons why we have flown in on the day of the game.

I want Bukha to start.

Watch how good our link up play is with him upfront and being hold up the ball.

He probably won't score and will probably miss 2-3 golden chances but he will set up other players and they way we created chance after chance against Rubin away was mostly down to his set up play.

Looks like the start of the match has been slightly delayed due to Zenit arriving late to the stadium.

Kleber why would somebody spend any extra time in Chechnya if they can avoid it?

I agree with you about Bystrov, if Danny is not available Bystrov is a good replacement and gives us some decent pace going forward.

It looks like Bystrov, Anyukov and Malafeev will all go in the January window. Luckily now we have a decent amount of Russian passports so we can look to abroad to replace them if we can't find replacements in Russia.

Because of the situation there, I'm not sure if I remember this correctly but around 4-5 years ago when we lost, we stayed there overnight and there was all manner of problems overnight and the management decided to fly there and back the same day of a match after this.

Let's not forget we won 3-0 there last season by using this method.
