Yeah, he's been a great pick up for us. Hopefully CL nerves don't grip him because we'll need him to be on his best to make it out of this group.

Deserves to be given a chance to be Russia number 1.

One excellent save and one outstanding save today, the second save was one you wouldn't expect him to save.

I said on the Russia World Cup 2014 discussion but if Russia were getting battered by Spain or Argentina he has in it him to pull of a World Class performance and keep a clean sheet, you can't say the same about Akinfeev.

Because he is shit mate.

Time for a change, who would give you the most confidence if Russia were getting battered in keeping a clean sheet? Akinfeev or Lodygin.

Exactly, Akinfeev is now error prone and can't handle crowds of over 10,000.

FYI Lodygin has made plenty of errors this season.

I couldn't care what he was doing 2 years ago Tony Tiger otherwise we could all bang out Andrey Arshavin video clips like he is still the player now as he was then, this is what Akinfeev does now when he pulls on a national jersey.

Snowman who can't move against the mighty Israel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZtZzfC-NlA

And just a few days earlier against the mighty Luxembourg - Straight at him and he can't stop it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfHfJIWZKjE

2 mistakes in 2 games which cost Russia goals whilst Lodygin is pulling off World Class saves in every match.

Time for Russia to get a proper keeper in now who can handle the 10k crowds.

How bout you pull up those videos of the two Pacos goals in our home leg? Or Vagner embarrassing Lodygin in the Super Cup? Actually for that matter pull up Honda's second goal from the Super Cup as well.

Of course you won't since that's not convenient for your case.

Now after player cut offs he is in the Russia squad for the next World Cup Qualifying matches.

Lodygin is getting better and better every game.

Akinfeev is getting worse, how many mistakes can he make in different matches in the just the past month alone? Plezen x2, Luxembourg x1, Israel x1, Bayern Munich x1 - That is 5 mistakes in the past month alone almost a mistake a match which costs a goal.

Time to give the shirt to the man in form and the man not making mistakes. These mistakes are not over the course of a season, these are just in the past month! If Russia conceed a critical goal due to Akinfeev then it could be goodbye World Cup. He can't be trusted anymore in net.

Let's not forget 2 of these mistakes were in his last 2 Internationals, add this into the mix with the mistakes being made at club level and it is clear to see Akinfeev is a man in decline.

Lodygin has come from nowhere, so much so Malafeev who was in possession of the Russian number 1 shirt before retiring from International Football and who was picked ahead of Akinfeev is unlikely to get his Zenit shirt back for the forseable future.

The sums here are pretty easy - Russian national manager picks Malafeev ahead of Akinfeev, Zenit manager picks Lodygin ahead of Malafeev, Russian national manager picks Lodygin ahead of Akinfeev. It is pretty basic maths.

Even me old mucker Kleber who detests Zenit had said on numerous times it is time now to give Lodygin his chance and Akinfeev is now past it.

All Russian Football fans will be crossing their fingers Lodygin get's the nod to start tonight.

Since the Akinfeev mistake against Luxemborugh just over 1 month ago he is making a mistake nearly every match which has cost a goal, if he doesn't make a mistake in a match he makes double mistake in the next one to cost 2 goals. These are mistakes which are costing goals and not routine errors where there are no goals conceded.

In the form he is in now he can't be trusted for these 2 vital World Cup Qualifers.

Lodygin has been the best goalkeeper in the Russian Premier League this by an absoloute mile and if you had never seen either keeper before and watched them for the first time this season it would be no brainer.

Good luck Yuri!

What can you say, x2 crucial saves yesterday, the second one from the Musa shot is one you don't expect a keeper to save.

You just cant ignore a goalkeeper who keeps making saves goalkeepers aren't expected to save.

Igor Icantmakeasaveav out

Yuri Lodygin in

No brainer
