Nole definitely deserves his own thread

i can imagine the welcome for Nole in Beograd is going to be out of this world

Capello beamed: "From Savicevic you came to expect these unthinkable plays of brilliance, because from the position he was in most players would have just taken the ball in stride and gone a little further with it, instead he went for this spectacular attempt which has gone down in history and is shown over and over again. It was simply.... Una cosa da Savicevic [the way of Savicevic]."

I don't think it has anything to do with the name "Novak", he is just a hard worker, great talent, and a nice guy that finally got to finish first, he is number ONE, it was just a matter of time.

Ana Ivanovic is also a great talent but needs some mental toughness, hopefully she will learn from Novak.

And while I am at it, Serbia has tons of talent, not only in tennis but all sports, the kids just need a chance.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Nah for most sports we have the talent but not the infrastructure and coaches.

That is not true, we have the talent, we have the coaches, we have the infrastructure...We have two of the best basketball coaches in the world. We need to be able to stop screwing the talent once we develop it, their heads get too big before they prove their worth on the field...example Milacic... Now if your suggestion was true, there would be no Novak, there would have been no Divac, no Nemanja Vidic, no Dejan Stankovic, etc...

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

The infrastructure and organization is in shambles. A girl that I know in Serbia trained judo during her youth and she was pretty good, she couldn't continue because she didn't have any place to train after her club had merged with another one and moved to that place. It was too far away for her to go and train, she basically had to take several busses just to get there and these buses don't even go on regular basis.

This is unthinkable in Sweden for an example.

Sometimes all you need is will to play, a will to win. We Serbs have inat which is a tool that when used properly is unbeatable.

Brazil dominates football yet they have no real infrastructure, nothing fancy, nothing more then what we have in Serbia, yet the results differ, most South American countries work with what they have.

Brazil dominates in football, Volleyball, and mixed marshal arts, did I miss anything else?

No, I am not joking, people in Brazil, the better players come from ghetto's, poor kids that were ambitious, being poor motivated them, they played in the streets, on the beach, etc...infrastructure is something that can be found in US, Germany, Sweden, etc...rich countries, not emerging countries like Brazil or India or China. Having stadiums is not infrastructure, Serbia has tons of stadiums in ruins...yet children that want to play and love football do not need much infrastructure.

the key word here is FOOTBALL China India or any other emerging countries dont have anything to do with the game period, never had never will, countries like Argentina played football even before you guys in Serbia heard about the game, River Plate was founded 110 year ago, Uruguay s Peńarol has over a hundred years my friend, the indians and chinese were picking up rice to eat in the fields back (that was their sport)then so dont even compare those countries with Brazil man, a country that has over one million footballers registered, they have everything when it comes to football man all the technology, infrastructure, health, nutrition, tactics, schools, organization, dude you are watching too many favelas movies like City of God and like i said before you need to come down here, i travel to all of Europe and the States i know what im talking about, Brazil is a fukcing continent, were have the people are from europe,(german,Spaniards, portuguese, italians, croats, serbs, etc) very progressive if you ever go to Rio, Sao paulo, brasilia, salvador or bahia it will make most of your European cities look from the Middle ages man.
