Most extraordinary moment of the olympics

Hopefully will find a video soon but the final first round heat of the 110m hurdles which just took place

Noga pulled his hamstring after 5 metres.
Lui Xiang crashed into the first hurdle
while 2 other athletes fell out later too.

9 starting - 5 finishing

The Olympic gold became a jinx after Liu Xiang won it in Athens. 4 years ago in Beijing, he was the home favourite and defending champion but had to pull out due to injury. In London, he chose to compete despite nursing an injury and crashed at the first hurdle I was expecting a great final between him, Merritt and Robles.

This is likely his last Olympics given he'll be 33 at the Rio games.

Has to be the saddest moment of the Olympics till now (and most extraordinary seeing how the others all crashed out in the same heat)

http://nos.nl/os2012/artikel/403880-...drama-liu.html for a video of it - dunno if it's visable abroad

lol @ the hurdler's technique in lane 2.

a steroid era women's track and field world record being broken (4x100m relay)

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

women's track and field records table is a total joke...pretty much all the events which were olympic events back in late 80's early 90s still have world records from this period...1983-1995...an era of superwomen...the more of them are broken the better it is.

clearly they don't have better ways or else those records would be broken...they might have ways wihich are harder to detect but not as effective as the anabolic steroid eating which turned women into half-men.

men shot put, discus throw, javelin and hammer throw records as well as all jumping records are also from the same period...nobody is even close to these results nowadays.
