Tennis

Just following it for Federer quest for glory. Yesterday game was really tough for him. I thought it was in the pocket at 5-3 in the second set with 3 balls to pack the game, but Falla put a great fight. In second round he faces Benneteau and this does not look easy aswell. Looking at their game in Wimbledon two weeks ago.

Murray/Murray out, Robson/Watson out, Keotevangh out (although excellent in the first set), Baltacha through. Let's hope Murray can produce something in the singles. It'd be just typical if he won a final at Wimbledon only for it to be the Olympics instead.

Federer has an easy draw in the singles all the way to the final so if he somehow screws up in the singles then his excuse has to be the crazy schedule. He's playing singles at mid-noon today followed by doubles with Stan Wawrinka in the late afternoon!

Well, he's playing against Benneteau today and at Wimbledon he had to come back from 0-2 in sets against him to win the tournament after that. Today 2-0 down means exit Olympics.

Tea-time ?

Tsonga beats Raonic 6-3, 3-6, 25-23. 4 hours game for a 3 set. Lol.
Finally Federer defetated Benneteau quite easily this time.

Another long day for Federer today. First the singles 3rd round match against Istomin at mid-day, followed by doubles in the late afternoon. Might be better off for him to give up on the doubles since he has already won a doubles gold and just focus on the singles.

Serena is annihilating everyone in a somehow very American way.

Too bad Wozniacki had to face her in the quarters.

From 0-40 down Del Potro fought back to hold serve and now leads 15-14 in the 3rd set. This is crazy stuff, might even break Tsonga's record for most games played in the final set at the Olympics.

Federer has missed so many chances this set. Should've been over a long time ago, now he'll probably lose.

Federer booked a date in the final by winning 19-17 in the 3rd set in a match where he should have won much earlier. Kinda feel sorry for Del Potro for the way he battle it out. Del Potro still have a mixed doubles match later in the day, and after a gruelling 4 and a half hour match must surely be out of gas...

Murray takes the first set 6-2 and leads 5-0 in the 2nd. Federer needs to hold to avoid a bagel.

Fed is now 2 sets down. He has come from 2 sets down to win before but I doubt he can do so today. Poor serving, bad execution and even luck is on Murray's side. The Olympic gold continues to be a curse.
