More Medals vs More Golds

What is number one criteria to judge who won the olympics?
the number of medals won? or just the number of golds won?

there's no such thing as "winning the Olympics" but the medals table is ranked by the Golds won...personally i would rather look at overall medals or more precisely the points system (where every place from 1-6 gives a certain amount of points) to rate a country's success.

because you can see some weird stuff in official Gold-based rankings...like in Beijing medals table Georgia (3 golds, 3 bronzes) finished ahead of Cuba (2 golds, 11 silvers, 11 bronzes)

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? There shouldn't be points for 4th place or lower though. 4th is the ultimate loser spot and the medal system should reflect this. I'm sure some mathematician could figure out a better system, but off the top of my head: 10:4:1.. or 8:3:1

Since silver is kind of a loser's medal too, I'm not in favour of the linear system 3:2:1

I think two silver medal should be count in equal to one gold medal and two or three bronze medal (depend on number of bronze medal in each competition) is equal to one silver medal in table ranking.

its very simple.

Gold medals = G
Silver medals = S
Bronze medals = B

((G*6)+(S*3)+(B*1))/10

my final line up all times: http://this11.com/play/abMdC18ajc.png

Anyway, criteria of gold medal number has to be also added. Otherwise, 200 silver medal by no gold medal could win the lead medal in theory. In example, if one would leader gold medal than another one for 10 gold medals, they're automatically lead in table regardless of medal points system.

If you want to look at silver, bronze too. Then why not look at 4th position, 5th position 6th position too.
Think gold should be the one and only criteria

But silver and bronze actually mean you won something, as opposed to 4th, 5th, 6th place, etc.

It is very simple. One guy wins, others are losers. Nodifference between second or 10th, both are losers
