Winter Break 2015

Our winter friendlies are vs. Celtic (10/1/15, 13:15 Dutch time) and Sparta Prague on the 11th at 17:00

Steven Bergwijn and Kenneth Paal are going with the first team for these friendlies iirc.

We have no competitive games

maybe a chance to see Colin topless in the Dubai sun to study his tatts is the best we can hope for.

I understand having pre-season friendlies to help get the guys some match practice, fitness, learn the system etc. but i've always wondered how much do these mid-season friendlies actually matter

PSV squad for the training camp in Maspalomas:

GK - Zoet, Pasveer, Van Osch;
DF - Brenet, Isimat, Rekik, Arias, Bruma, Willems, Koch;
MF - Maher, Schaars, Wijnaldum, Guardado, Vloet,Ritzmaier, Hiljemark, Hendrix, Paal;
FW - Bergwijn,Memphis,De Jong, Narsingh,Jozefzoon and Locadia.

So the whole first squad minus Tamata plus a few Jong PSV players (van Osch, Koch, Paal and Bergwijn)

The returns of Schaars and Hiljemark are notable however

The games against Celtic and Sparta Prague will be broadcasted on Dutch TV, so i guess streams will be available.

Zoet suffered a thumb injury in training on his 24th Birthday

There was no fracture so hopefully he'll be back playing soon

PSV lead 1-0 at half-time thanks to a goal from Memphis

We have had the better of the half and probably should have scored at least once more

Brenet-Jozefzoon are looking good down the right hand side

Completely agree about the first half (although I only saw from 17 mins on). Second half Celtic had 2 or 3 chances to score, didn't take them.

Ritzmaier played a poor game

1-0 it finished

Celtic had a few chances but Locadia missed a good one as well in the 2nd half

Ritzmaier did look poor but again he didn't play in his preferred position. At first half he played at LB and then was moved to LW when Willems came on for Memphis at HT. He is a CM ffs!

Hiljemark also made his comeback by coming on for Guardado in the second half

HT: Sparta Prague 2-1 PSV

PSV have given Sparta so much space when around our box, they have had some woeful finishes from chances they have created. Pasveer has only given 1 good pass out (we have been passing it back to him a lot), that might down to the wind and the pitch. The second goal he might have done better with saving the first shot...

De Jong wasted a heading chance, Depay had a chance that but had a horrible technique for his shot, Maher scored after Arias got in behind their defense and squared it across goal.

Hendrix got subbed off with an injury I'd imagine around 30 mins for Guardado.

2-2 Depay

Wijnaldum with a through ball to Depay.

Seconds later Wijnaldum misses the target from 12 yards out with an easy chance..

PSV have been much more positive second half, Ritzmaier gets some minutes in place of Willems (around 67 mins in)

Narsingh has been delivering good crosses to back post all game, De Jong is finally at the back post to connect and convert one of these crosses.

2-3 De Jong

And another one for De Jong. The second half has been very good, Sparta can do nothing else than defend.

Poor back pass from Sparta Prague, straight to the path of De Jong in the box who finishes with ease.

2-4 De Jong
