KNVB Beker 14/15: Eliminated by Roda JC (again!)

We'll be against Utrecht on 24/25 or 26th of September at home. Not the easiest first round game for us...

These rounds normally are a nice opportunity to give the chance to some talents. Now we have to use the 'stars', not really helpful in this busy period. At least we play at home..

Game tonight at 20:45 against Utrecht at the Phillips Stadion

We lost to Roda JC in the 3rd round last season at home so we all know that tomorrow facing Utrecht will not be a formality.

All that is know at the time of writing is that Pasveer will start in goal. His 2nd game for PSV after the home game against Shakhtyor in the EL qualifying stages.

Also, Guardado is available again after recovering from a muscle injury.

Hopefully we get to see Isimat in action for the first time.

I'll post the probable line-up once its known.

Willems scored two minutes from the beginning with a placed shot in the low right corner. He outplayed some Utrecht player as well.

Now Arias with the 2-0. What a chances, looking good!

Arias gets his second assisted own goal of the season, from what I have seen we should be 2-0 up, ball hasn't left Utrecht's third since I started watching

Utrecht should change tactics, they give away way too much space. They go forward with a lot of players, but don't know how to keep possession. That's how PSV likes it.

Utrecht have had 3 chances in last 5 mins, against most teams we would have conceded at least 1 of them.

Good to see the stadium have this much of a turnout compared to previous years in the cup home games...

Yeah, more supporters than in the EL.

Brenet for Willems (no injury). Arias will probably move to the left now.

Brenet is playing on the left, not Arias.

Isimat is one of the better PSV players, good first performance.

Pasveer with a miraculous save to keep his clean sheet (as it stands). Utrecht really should of got 1 back there...

Routine but expected win - unlike last season.

I don't read too much into KNVB Cup games. The game vs Heerenveen on Sunday is much more important.

Our line-up in this game was: Pasveer; Arias, Isimat, Bruma, Willems (45' Brenet); Maher, Hendrix, Ritzmaier; Narsingh, Locadia (68' Wijnaldum), Jozefzoon (83' Vloet).

Luuk missed out on the squad because of a hamstring strain. He is a doubt for Sundays game

3rd Round Cup Game to be played tonight at 18:30 away to Almere City FC at the mighty Mitsubishi Forklift Stadium

They have some well known names to Eredivisie watchers with captain Sander Keller, Sneijder jr, Jason Oost and cult hero Leon de Kogel on loan from Utrecht

They are currently 14th in the Jupiler League and are normally a bottom half side so there should be no problems for our boys.

Cocu stated in ED earlier this week that he will make some changes to our normal XI for this game.

Possible XI

Pasveer

Brenet - Isimat - Rekik - Willems

Guardado
Wijnaldum - Ritzmaier

Jozefzoon - Locadia - Memphis

Yeah has a hint of offside, none of the replays really showed whether he was or not.

1-2 Gini

Luuk De Jong controlled a pass from Willems well to set up Gini

Locadia ends the game with two goals, 1-4 now. Good assists of Jozefzoon and Gini.
