PSV Winter Break 2014

So after travelling all the way to Thailand for a friendly last season we have reverted back to a more football focused winter break this time.

The team will fly out to Gran Canaria on Jan 6th to take part in the Maspalomas Cup (which we have won 3 times before btw ).

Other teams taking part are:

FC Augsburg (Germany)
Shanghai Shenhua (China)
Lokomotiv Plovdiv (Bulgaria)

The winter break has almost come at the wrong time to PSV...just when they looked like they were turning things around.

Schaars, Wijnaldum and Matavz will join PSV on the trip to Gran Canaria. They are making a good progress in their revalidation. So it seems PSV can start the second half of the season with a healty group.

The play seemed much better though. Also against Odesa they didn't play that bad. It's like Man U, after they beat the Villa everything seemed back to normal in the way they played.

I'd rather the winter break come now though.

Schaars, Gini and Matavz will all be back then. We need that experience badly.

We are playing Plovdiv on the 9th of January.

The other game is to be played on the 11th where the winners and losers of both games (Shanghai vs Augsburg being the other) will play each other.

Never thought I say this but I think the return of Gini will do us much good.

Yep, he scores a decent amount of goals and puts a lot of effort in the game. He is the kind of player we need on the midfield. He has his weak aspects but i would prefer him above the Maher we have seen this season any day.

PSV won a friendly 3-0 today, was watchable but didn't know they were playing today and even then what time... Narsingh, Jozefzoon, Memphis were the goal scorers, the friendly was against Lokomotiv Plovdiv BTW.

Jong PSV drew 0-0 against some team yesterday (I think) will edit this post when I figure out who it was against...

Edit: Jong PSV played against '1. FC Saarbrucken' think they play in the third division of Germany

The contender of PSV1 was very poor. Laugable they defeated Vitesse earlier this season. PSV controled the whole game, but didn't create a lot of chances. They lacked creativity to come in front of the goal. Only in the last 15 minutes they came through a lot.

Cocu said he thought Park did well on midfield, he wants to try it out some more. Would be a good move imo.

Probably because Depay was brought on around then... From some mediocre highlights I could see of the game, the team we were against didn't look very good, you know what time the final on Saturday is on at? I'll watch it if I know when it is on...

The game against Augsburg (number 8 in Bundesliga) is 8 PM here in The Netherlands, so in Ireland it is on 7 PM i guess.

Very boring game against Ausberg so far, Ausberg have fouled PSV anytime we try to start an attack, only real chance of the game was a Locadia shot on the turn that got deflected and the keeper saved...

Game has really opened up first 5 mins of second half, both sides have had chances, Ausberg managed to run round Zoet after (I think it was) Schaars got caught in possession in centre circle

Augsberg just scored, game is soooooo boring, haven't really been watching for awhile, Augsberg have been waiting to get a goal from a counter attack, it finally happened, Zanka(think that was him, actually might have been Bruma) was terrible trying to block that shot...

Yeh, i have been doing something else in the past 30 minutes. Depay and Arias seem to play well, can't think of anything else positive. Locadia had two good chances, he should have scored the second time. He needed too much time.
