PSV in the CL 2013/14 - 5 Years Absent and Counting...

Red Bull Salzburg, FC Nordsjaelland, Zulte-Waregem, Giannina (Greece) and Grasshoppers are the possible candidates in the 2nd qualifying round as PSV are seeded.

But then the next round, if PSV go through, it's the usual: Arsenal, Lyon, AC Milan, Zenit, Valencia and Lyon as possible candidates with PSV being unseeded.

It will be hard, really hard. They have no chance against Arsenal and Valencia, the rest can be beaten though. Need some luck.

Yeah, there are 4 rounds, because in the first round you will see the champion of Malta vs that one of the Faroer.

Yeah but we are all counting that PSV will get through that round.

I think Andor would support Birkirkara, though I'd back EB/Streymur.

I'm looking at the history of some Maltese clubs. Floriana are the most successful and are the only club from Malta to have qualified to the first round proper of the Champions League in season 1993/4 where they faced Porto and lost 2-0 over the two legs, but they haven't won the league since 1992/3, indeed, the season when they qualified for the CL.

I'm looking at that CL season and it looks so much more interesting than it does now, the variety of clubs - so much more diverse - Feyenoord faced the Icelandic club Akranes in the first round and actually IA defeated them at the Laugardalsvollur IA's usual home ground is the Akranesvöllur but I guess it was shifted to the national stadium in Reykjavik as their home stadium didn't fit UEFA guidelines or whatever. But Feyenoord won at De Kuip 3-0 with goals from... Refos, Obiku, and Blinker.

Today it's draw time. No encounter in Turkey possible, because Fenerbahce still managed to get in via the court and they're a seeded team just like PSV.

Another Dutch side to mess up?

Most in Holland know nothing about Zulte Waregem so probably are expecting 3-0 scorelines, but Hazard jr is a damn good player and they were entertaining too last season.

They came pretty close to the title last season and PSV's run in Europe last season saw them struggle against lesser oponents.

Zulte is a good opponent that shouldnt be underestimated, however we are the favorites and should pass this round.

Hi, folks. I've been following this forum for sometime and now I'm here, one more soul supporting PSV. And there are 3 simple reasons for that: I live in Eindhoven, it's the same colors as my team (Săo Paulo) and Romário played here (yes, I'm Brazilian).

Just one thing: in the first post is said that PSV won't be seeded if we go thru the next stage. Well, there's a chance PSV may be seeded.

In the playoff stage, Arsenal, Milan and Schalke 04 will be seeded, as Real Sociedad and Paços Ferreira won't, due to their coefficients. There are 2 spots as seeds and PSV is the 3rd best coefficient among 3rd-round teams, behind Olympique Lyon and Zenit SP. So, if either French or Russian falls on 3rd round, PSV will be seeded.

Welcome.

It's unlikely that either Lyon or Zenit will get knocked out though.

Not likely, really, but it's football... anything can happen; maybe the Danes put up a surprise here.:rollani:

Well, one way or another it's going to be really hard for a team that's changing half of its starting squad.

Yeah welcome always good to add another person to the PSV family.

Are there any Ajax supporters apart from Chivu and Jebes Fudbal?
