PSV Winter Break 2013 - Off To Thailand!

Or the PSV Centennial Asia Tour 2013 as its called, to celebrate 100 years of PSV.

So far we only have one game organised for our winter break and its against the champions of Thailand: Muang Thong United FC.

We were organising another whilst we were going to be in Thailand but that one fell through.

We fly out on the 5th of January and play Muang Thong on the 8th. The club is based outside of Bangkok so that will be interesting i guess.

No recognisable names in their squad either. A few North Koreans , a Brazilian, a Macedonian and two guys from Ivory Coast amongst their foreigners.

I wonder how much cash we will get for playing this game.

A gem i found of the Macedonian International (Mario Gjurovski) who iirc was voted as the best foreign player in the league last season.

I wonder why we are playing them for our 100 year celebration? Probably because of the cash, still would have liked a more prestigious club.

The big celebration is this summer. We play against Barcelona then (part of deal with Afellay).

Mmm i was just going to say that we will probably play some more prestigious club in the summer. I couldn't imagine our 100 years being celebrated against Muang Thong United (with all due respect).

Afellay, no idea how much we will get for playing this game in Thailand?

Any idea on what the final squad that is going to be flying off to Thailand is?

I've been hearing that quite a few Jong PSV players are going to be travelling but i haven't seen any official confirmation of the squad yet.

It will be interesting to see what Hiljemark manages to do and if Pieters will start at CB (a possibility that has been discussed between him and Advocaat and which they both approve on).

Forgot to mention in the other thread that Ruud Swinkels contract has not been extended as Bertrams recovery has gone well, meaning he will be our 3rd keeper. Ruud is currently on trial at ADO.

PSV departed with Hiljemark, Hendrix, Bakkali en Koch besides the normal squad. Toivonen joined the normal squad too, but it will nonetheless take a long time before he can play. Van Bommel has an virus infection and stays here. Engelaar stays too because are some clubs interested in him according to his agent.

Who went to Thailand:
Tyton, Waterman, Bertrams; Zanka, Bouma, Marcelo, Pieters, Toivonen, Strootman, Matavz, Wijnaldum, Lens, Hutchinson, Mertens, Willems, Derijck, Locadia, Van Ooijen, Depay, Manolev, Ritzmaier, Hiljemark, Koch, Hendrix en Bakkali.

Too bad the match against Muang Thong United is on the middle of the day for people in The Netherlands .

About the money we get for the game; i can't find it anymore. I have seen it somewhere but i totally forgot where.

Training begonnen zonder Bouma. Nog steeds warm. Advocaat traint morgenvroeg niet buiten met de ploeg. Kiest ivm hitte voor krachthonksessie
LOL.
