2012/13 Europa League Campaign: PSV B Not Amongst The Best 48 Teams In Europe

Possible opponents in this afternoon's draw

PSV:
FK Zeta (Mon)
Dinamo Moskou (Rus)
Slovan Liberec (Tsj)
FC Luzern (Zwi)
FK Ekranas (Lit)
Rapid Wien (Oos)

Dinamo Moscow with Bakkal and doedelzak obviously the trickiest possible opponent. They've had a rubbish start to the Russian league though.

Other ties should see a comfortable PSV win.

We can take them all, but Dinamo of course would be really difficult.

Easiest draw possible but also the most boring one at that.

The team is all Montenegrin with a few Serbs. Iirc they were the first champions of Montenegro.

They are from Podgorica so at least logistics shouldnt be too much of a problem.

FK Zeta - PSV

Game is on tomorrow. Kick off at 21:05 iirc.

Who cares really?

Anyway Manolev and Zanka have been left out of the 19 man squad travelling over there.

The rest of the gang is all going to be there.

Zanka really disappoints me, let's just hope he will get better. This may be a hard game (like sv Ried last season), but we will slaughter them in Eindhoven.

The thing with Zanka is that he didnt play at all basically last season as he had a knee reconstruction.

That must factor into why he hasnt impressed. Also the fact he dosent know Dutch wouldnt help either.

I say we cant judge him on this season alone as we have been following him for a while.

I'd have thought the other players would communicate in English instead for him? Considering you Dutch guys are so immense at English! :smileani:

FK Zeta: 0

PSV: 5

2' Toivonen
74' Matavz
77' Strootman
83' Lens
90' Van Bommel

Line-up PSV: Tyton, Marcelo, Van Bommel, Toivonen, Strootman, Matavz, Lens, Hutchinson, Mertens, Derijck en Ritzmaier

Line up FK Zeta: Bulatovic, M. Radulovic, Vujacic, Zlaticanin, Boljevic, Novovic, Bozovic, Dosljak, Burzanovic, Korac, M.B. Radulovic

Easy win, with a fast goal of Toivonen. Zeta is no contender at all, they are the same class like FC Emmen or something.

Not much more to say really.

Yeah, but the thing is there is a lot of Dutchies in the current team.

Apart from Advocaat there are 6 Dutchies on the starting line-up + Mertens and guys like Toivonen and Tyton also speak fluently.

They arnt going to start speaking English just for 2 or 3 guys in the whole squad. The same thing happens in Barca: If you dont speak Spanish then you need to learn it quick!

Routine win with Dick not even fielding our best XI. Strange to see Derijck in the line up though. Perhaps Dick wants to persuade him to stay?

It shouldnt be that hard for a Danish fellow to learn Dutch. Most of them speak it very well in a year. The languages are so similar.

Zanka said he wants to learn Dutch in within 6 months, but that isn't the problem at all. PSV just is a way higher level than Kopenhagen and it's hard for him to near it.

Well, it is nice to see that many players should be able to take it easy for this 2nd leg.

Will be interesting to see the group stage draw.

Will be interesting to see if any of the other Dutch clubs move into the group stage as some aren't looking good.

But you would expect a Danish international CB to fit in very soon. I think we all had high hopes for him. But its better to take time to adjust to the league than get playing time and loose all of the fans support because you havent adjusted yet.

Yeah, i completely agree with you here.

We can't forget that he missed 9 months or so of football last season due to a knee injury however.

The more Dutch teams in the EL, the better for PSV.

We always seem to get a bore draw in the group stages but as usual im hoping for the hardest one possible so it seems like we are in the UCL

As for the game on Thursday, who cares. I would send out a B team.

Dick has announced the team for today's game:

Waterman

Manolev - Derijck - Zanka - Willems

van Ooijen - Engelaar
Wijnaldum

Narsingh - Matavz - Depay

So Dick does have some decency and does send out a B team.

Only Matavz and Willems started on Sunday. Im not sure if i would play Jetro in this match however.

Bouma, Hutchinson and van Bommel don't even make the bench.

Interested to see what our B team will do against Zeta. Pretty sure this team has the quality to win. How good is this van Ooijen?

Finally Narsingh and Matavz playing on the same time. I've been waiting for that for months.
