Wilfred Bouma

Has just signed a one-year extension which will surely be the last season of his career considering he is 34, has had a major injury and that we have 3 other CB's in the first squad.

A true legend at the club who will always be remembered (I even have a Bouma PSV jersey ) with him being a PSV boy all the way up to 2005 when he went to play in the EPL. A return in 2010 saw him do well in his first season but he struggled at times last season, especially during the end of it.

What ever happens this coming season does not even matter tbh but all PSV fans would like to see him have an impact not only in the dressing room but on the pitch; one last time

Good on Dick for convincing him to stay one more year

Bouma I will savour every moment that he plays this season as it will be his last.

He may not be good enough for the starting line-up, but he's a great player to have on the bench. Real PSV'er, lots of experience. Good!

In an Aston Villa legend Q'n'A, Bouma answered questions on Twitter from fans. One question was what his plans were after he retired, he said...
Quote:
Obviously I'd like to play on for a few more years! I'm not thinking about it a lot but sometimes in the back of your mind you will think about it a little bit. Maybe something to do with the youngsters, in the academy, over in Holland. To do that would be good. But first of all, for one year after my career I just want to do nothing, and think a little bit about what I want to do afterwards. But at the moment things are going really, really well so hopefully, I can play another two seasons- that is my goal.
So this season might not be his last!

Wonder what he plans to do next season, it's sure he would have to sit on the bench at PSV.

I think he'll be content with that or does he really want to go to something like Vitesse or Heerenveen to play first team football?

I can't see him moving elsewhere just to play football, if his love for PSV is as strong as he says it is, he won't want to leave. Besides, he should get game time still if PSV compete on 3 fronts over the next 2/3 years.

boumavilla, i've got some bad news for you. Cocu said there's no place for him at PSV. Bouma doesn't want to end his career as football player yet though. I like to see Cocu is making place for the youth (Hendrix) and new defenders, but we also need some experienced players. Wonder where Bouma will play next season.

The VI reporter said that Bouma most likely wont get a new contract.

Noooo PSV! :broken:

As long as Bouma still plays, I am happy!

Will be very interesting to see where he will go...

Does Torquay United need a left footed defender?

Ultan has informed me Bouma is on trial at Helmond Sport.

Nice to know, but surprised he's dropped to Jupiler League from PSV.

Bad news for boumavilla; Bouma has decided to retire. He couldn't find a new club.

Tbh, I'm not that sad about it, because I knew it would happen eventually with him not being able to find a club for months after being released.

Heard Freddy and Eric Addo were being contacted to become PSV's new youth coaches.

I thought I heard Eric Addo was playing for FC Eindhoven (he must love Eindhoven if that is true...)
