Memphis 'Dromenjager' Depay Off To Man Utd!

The biggest up and coming talent in our squad at the moment.

He has just recently signed a contract extension until 2017.

Came from Sparta Rotterdam and predominantly plays as a LW but can also play on the right.

A European Champion at U17 level and got a few sub appearances (and goals) during the tail end of last season where he showed glimpses of magic. Will be the first back-up to Mertens this season and maybe even the first back-up on the RW position.

Mertens svcked against Feyenoord and he still didnt get a shot.

No idea.

Dikkie dosen't think we can win the league title with young players is definitely a reason but then again even Locadia has been getting more minutes than Memphis and he has more competition at 9 (Lens and Matavz).

Advocaat said he doesn't like his mentality, he doesn't entirely focus on football. Such a shame, he sure has the quality to become a good player.

I can actually see that with Memphis.

The sleeve tattoo for one and he also spends a bit too much time on his twitter account for my liking.

If this is Advocaat's reasoning then you cant take it against him.

One thing is sure though, Dickie doesnt like to fit youngsters in his team.

Still better than putting the whole Bible on your back like Engelaar.

Well, Depay in the starting-line up tonight, just like Locadia.

You never know with Depay, but this seems to be just a joke. However, teammate Jeremain Lens does have a tattoo there.

I don't even know how to respond to this stuff... That middle one makes Depay look more bent than the stuff shown of Willems on here

Changed your youtube links to make them visible

I don't mind them having fun but honestly Royston Drenthe's Madrid video has high quality music compared to this

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

A couple of years ago, Rutten told Depay to make a decision. Or football, or rapping. He had to make a choise. Depay was like 16 years old back then. I think it seems he made the choise for football, i can't say he doesn't live like a professional. Just look at his body and the story's of people around him. They all say he works his ass off.

yeah, to be fair he comes off as one of those typical ghetto kids! But he does seem to have the work ethic and dedication that most of the stereotypical ghetto boiis like Drenthe dont have. Like when they got whooped at home to Vitesse he was the one who looked most gutted and was the one speaking to the hardcore fans and was out there for ages after the game!

The latest player to be linked with Man Utd thanks to LvG's appointment

The Sun this time the source - 18 million euros being the rumoured transfer fee.

I forgot to mention it in the Netherlands-Ecuador thread but he looked really good alongside RvP. Most of Oranje's chances came through him/his side.

Everybody has a price. PSV is not in the position to refuse serious offers from the biggest clubs in the world. Depay can leave for the jackpot and nothing less than the jackpot. We've gotten about 20-23 mil for Strootman so Depay is worth about the same.

Depay can succeed at United but he will need time. He first has to work on his efficiency. I can fully understand if he wants to join United, it would be a great chance. Van Gaal would take care of him. And PSV.. can start all over.. again..

Everything there is true, but United won't be bidding for Depay this summer, along with about the majority of 300 of the players Manchester United have been linked to in the past month...

Yeah, just some vague rumours. Still, it's known Van Gaal is a fan of Depay. That makes me think. Van Gaal has attracted Dutch players to his clubs before. It would suprise nobody if a player like Strootman or Depay would join United.
