Ancelotti: a flop or a success?

Maybe neither a flop nor a success, but my feeling is that if he stays for another season in Napoli the number of supporters who miss Sarri might increase badly.

Napoli was an odd choice from the beginning, for a coach like Ancelotti. A sort of relegation for him, I believe as a consequence of the fact that no big club in Europe were interested in him. Napoli are right now the best in Italy after Juventus, but they are not going to be the second-best for long in my opinion.

Yep, and Milan too, maybe not in the next season. Both the Milanesi will gain back their status of scudetto challengers sooner than later.

Flop might be a bit to much, but it was pretty clear to see how Napoli slowly became worse during his tenure. All his best performances with them was frontloaded in the first half of the season and since then they been worse and worse. That normally is a sign that he was riding on the success of the former manager, but as he got his stamp stronger they actually did worse. From what I see I also felt that they team early on played more like the Sarri one and later much slower...

I think his getting a comfortable second place is actually a fair result. He has the best defender in serie A but he lost Hamsik and Insigne is a chocker. I always wonder why Mertens does not play more.

Back in when he was coaching Milan and Chelsea he would now and again say that he would one day coach Roma (I haven't paid close attention for 8 years or so).

Not bigotting
