Eredivisie TOHS 2014/15

Now that the first half of the season is over - who makes your Eredivisie Team of the Half Season?

Basically who has had the best performances in contributing to their clubs relative success

I'd go with the following...

Formation: 4-1-2-1-2

Vermeer

van Rhijn - Kongolo - Rekik - Willems

Guardado

Gudelj - Klaassen

Armenteros

L.de Jong - Ogbeche

I know Uth and Kramer have been the top scorers thus far but as Cambuur and Willem II have done relatively better (expectations vs reality) than Hveen and ADO i decided to go for Ogbeche and Armenteros instead.

Also, good right-backs are hard to come by in the Eredivisie so i went for van Rhijn as the best out of a bad bunch

Tankovic for AZ, I'd think.

yes that is a pretty solid choice

That's not related at all. Tankovic has been AZ's best player in the half-season

Personally i don't rate him that highly. He has been helped out by injuries to key forward that has given him extended playing time. There are a couple of AZ fans on here that may think differently though

He is still only 19 years old and has room for improvement - especially with his finishing

I think Gudelj is AZ's best player along with Aron Jóhansson (when he is fit)

AZ have a very exciting team to watch with young guys like Haye, Dos Santos, Luckassen, Hoedt and Haps all playing a part in their success thus far this season

My turn!

Vermeer

Wilkshire van der Werff Kongolo Willems

El Ahmadi Maher Wuytens

Castaignos Uth Depay

Bench: Padt, Rekik, Gudelj, Klaasen, Kramer, Milik, Necid

Manager: Ron Jans

Vermeer and Padt have been my two choices for goalkeepers since they've been the most consistent.
Defence had slim pickings, but decided on those four. Wilkshire has been solid, Kongolo and Willems represent their vast improvement and van der Werff represents Zwolle as their defence on the whole has been very good for a team of their ability.
Maher has improved a lot this season finally! El Ahmadi IMO has stood out more in the Feyenoord team than Clasie even though Clasie is still the better player. Wuytens deserves his place because he has lead Willem II to a good start to the season, if they had hung on to beat Twente the newly promoted side would have been ninth!
Up front, Depay was the obvious choice, Uth has been the best by a good margin out of him and Kramer, and Castiagnos gets a place because he also has improved this year, a good leader for the team.
I couldn't pick any Ajax players to put in the team though, sign of the times?

Gudelj has been our best player this season so far. Hoedt, Haye and dos Santos have been good new players but Tankovic has (as WR said) only done well because of injuries etc. Playing as a striker as well he should have grabbed a few more goals for the team.

Vermeer
Wilkshire - Botteghin(C) - Van Beek - Willems
Vejinovic/Guardado
Klaassen/Wijnaldum - Gudelj
Sinkgraven - Castaignos/Necid - Depay

Vermeer and Cillissen are the best keepers in the eredivisie. Vermeer gets the edge because of his spectacular saves.
There arent many good rightbacks this year but Wilkshire has been a good one.
Botteghin is easily one of the best defenders this year, he has been amazing.
I really dont know who to put next to him, there hasnt any standout but I choose Van Beek because he has been doing pretty well for his first season.
Willems has been amazing this year, defensivly solid but offensivly a beast with great passes and plays.
Vejinovic has been doing really well, linking up play and bagging in goals for Vitesse. He and Propper are the only Vitessenaren doing well.
Guardado has been a beast and one of the best signings of PSV in the last few years. However I dont think he is a real DM and he hasnt played the whole season so I pick Vejinovic in front of him.
Gudelj has really made progress at AZ and he should be thinking of leaving the club at the end of the season.
Klaassen and Wijnaldum are the best midfielders in the league, both have been amazing but Gini was out with an injury thats why I've chosen Klaasen.

Up front its harder to decide, which is strange because earlier there were always standout players up front. It should tell you something that nobody mentions the two topscorers. At RW im torn between Toornstra and Sinkgraven, both have had good seasons and both arent RW. However Toornstra has been playing at RW so therefore he has my preference. The striker position is the hardest to choose from. No real standout this year. Depay is a must in any team.

Hardly a surprise, this was the worst signing I've seen at NEC.

Bovenberg must be the most hardworking player in training because I have no idea how he can be a professional player

He was mentioned in the teams of the season here during his first spell at Excelsior. Mainly thanks to his goals back then.

yeah, I remember him looking reasonably good in his first few games for Utrecht as well! That's why it's quite amazing how he has turned in to such a shambolic player!

His offensive heading is one of his few qualities and it wouldnt be fair to downplay it. Even at NEC he scored a few headers, however when it came to playing football and defending he was terrible.

I disagree with Coutinho, Vilhena and Hiariej!

However I agree with the rest...any spaces on a potential bench for Markiet?

Memphis is probably the most talented player in the league but he hasn't had too many stand out performances so far this season. He has scored 10 goals but he hasn't been as crucial to us as Luuk de Jong who put in MOTM performances in our most important games this season (Ajax, Twente and Feyenoord) and has the same amount of goals as Memphis.

Another player i feel is being overlooked somewhat is Davy Klaassen. He has the most assists in the league with 8.

These are goal.com's TOHS:

Vermeer
Van Beek, Kongolo, Willems
Clasie,
Vejinovic, Wijnaldum,
Klassen,
Schone, Uth, Depay

A 3-4-3 diamond formation with the 11 players they picked? they didn't really make a team they just picked 11 players that performed well.

Their worst TOHS:

ten Rouwelaar
Haddad, Damcevski, Malone, van der Weg
De Kamps, Leerdam, Zimling
Boateng, ten Voorde, Hoesen

haha That's not too far off from mine! Leerdam isn't a bad shout actually when you compare him to how he performed last season
