Topklasse '13/'14

Time for the national 3rd level thread I think.

With Achilles'29 gone and no promotion/relegation from and to the Jupiler League it's sure no team will go up in the next two seasons. Still, they'll play to win the all amateur title in the next two seasons.

There are still two divisions, one filled with Saturday teams and one filled with Sunday teams.

The season will start on August 24th/25th.
Match schedule

Saturday teams

Sunday teams

So this weekend the Topklasse started as well. Here the results.

Saturday
Barendrecht - Excelsior '31 2-4 (600)
Excelsior Maassluis - Spakenburg 1-0 (1000)
HHC Hardenberg - Capelle 0-3 (1300)
Noordwijk - GVVV 1-4 (850)
Rijnsburgse Boys - Kozakken Boys 1-2 (1400)
Scheveningen -ONS Boso Sneek 3-0 (250)
Ter Leede - Katwijk 0-1 (1300)
IJsselmeervogels - FC Lisse 0-0 (1500)

Some pretty surprising results at the opening day. Newcomers Excelsior Maassluis beating Spakenburg while the blues shall do anything to prevent a season like last one.
Both Rijnsburg and HHC losing at home, actually only champions Katwijk did well from the favourites winning their first derby of the season in Sassenheim

Sunday
UNA - EVV 1-3
Haaglandia - WKE 2-2
ADO'20 - JVC 0-0
De Treffers - AFC 3-2
Be Quick 1887 - HBS 3-3
Leonidas - HSC'21 3-1
Lienden - VVSB 0-2
Chabab - Juliana'31 5-0

With Achilles'29 gone to professional football, no one knows who'll stand up in this league which was dominated by the black and whites for years. Based on the previous seasons, normally WKE, De Treffers and ADO'20 should play for the title, but you'll never know in amateur football. What about Hansie Hansie's JVC for example. What about Lienden who released their whole squad to continue with a complete new one? And what about the newcomers from Groningen, Rotterdam and Malden?
Most remarkable result came from Amsterdam. Chabab, who moved to a new ground and lost all their pre-season friendlies, smashed newcomers Juliana 5-0 which makes them the first leaders.

A small update.

Saturday
After two rounds the following teams still have got a 100% score: Excelsior '31, Scheveningen, Capelle, Kozakken Boys and surprisingly newcomers Excelsior Maassluis. Big guns Rijnsburg and IJsselmeervogels collected just one point so far, at Spakenburg they're already nervous to experience a season like last one as they're still at nill points.

Sunday
Over here just three teams still have got a 100% record. These are EVV, De Treffers and surprisingly another newcomer, Leonidas from Rotterdam. De Treffers for me are the big favourites for the title this season, they won the derby last weekend in Cuijk versus Hansie Hansie's JVC. Without points so far are newcomers UNA and Juliana together with Lienden who changed their complete squad.

Most remarkable fixture next weekend is Juliana versus JVC. Despite those towns (Malden and Cuijk) are seperated just about 10 kilometres from eachother, the two clubs have never played eachother for the league. That's mainly because they operate in different districts (Oost and Zuid II), pretty strange if you ask me, as both clubs were founded back in 1931.

You're that close to Malden?

For me it's pretty close too, by car probably about 20-25 mins. I'll visit that game as it's a pretty historic encounter. Have got my doubts though if they realise that at the clubs.

Beside that, Juliana suffered two heavy defeats. The first one at Chabab (5-0, while Chabab lost last week 7-1 away to HSC) and the second one 0-3 at home to ADO'20, while ADO were down to ten after 20 mins...
Wonder if they're really that bad. If not, I'd love to see Hansie Hansie as they're a bit under pressure as well with just one point out of the first two matches.

JVC picked up Latupeirissa btw.

Yeah I live in the most Southern tip of Nijmegen, Malden is basicly next to us. Only a little strip of forest seperates us.

Dont think they realize it though Knoert. I would like JVC and Juliana to a bit better indeed.

Spakenburg fired their coach.

Quote:

International weekend so no professional football. The amateurs just continued, a roundup:

Saturday
Barendrecht - HHC Hardenberg 2-1
Excelsior '31 - Katwijk 4-2
FC Lisse - Scheveningen 2-1
GVVV - Capelle 4-0
Kozakken Boys - Spakenburg 0-0
Rijnsburgse Boys - Ter Leede 1-1
ONS Boso Sneek - Noordwijk 2-0
IJsselmeervogels - Excelsior Maassluis 5-1

1. Kozakken Boys 8 - 16
- - - - - - - - - -
2. IJsselmeervogels 8 - 15
3. HHC Hardenberg 8 - 14
4. Capelle 8 - 14
5. GVVV 8 - 13
6. Excelsior'31 8 - 13
7. Scheveningen 8 - 13
8. Barendrecht 8 - 12
9. FC Lisse 8 - 12
10. ONS Sneek 8 - 12
11. Katwijk 8 - 11
12. Excelsior Maassluis 8 - 11
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Spakenburg 8 - 9
- - - - - - - - - -
14. Rijnsburgse Boys 8 - 6
15. Noordwijk 8 - 6
16. Ter Leede 8 - 4

We see some common names at the top like IJsselmeervogels and HHC. Quite surprising is we see some common names at the bottom too, like Spakenburg and Rijnsburg. Also champions Katwijk completely missed the start...

Sunday
EVV - WKE 2-0
Be Quick - Haaglandia 4-0
JVC Cuijk - UNA 2-0
De Treffers - Chabab 3-2
HBS - HSC'21 cancelled
VVSB - Juliana'31 cancelled
AFC - ADO'20 cancelled
FC Lienden - Leonidas cancelled

1. Leonidas 7 - 19
- - - - - - - - - -
2. De Treffers 8 - 18
3. EVV 8 - 17
4. AFC 7 - 15
5. JVC Cuijk 8 - 13
6. ADO'20 7 - 11
7. HSC'21 7 - 10
8. HBS 7 - 10
9. VVSB 7 - 10
10. Chabab 8 - 9
11. UNA 8 - 8
12. Juliana'31 7 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Haaglandia 8 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
14. FC Lienden 7 - 5
15. Be Quick 8 - 5
16. WKE 8 - 5

Unfortunately because of many rain four matches got cancelled. In the Sunday group many clubs ran out of money. Think about WKE, Lienden and Haaglandia especially.
Big surprise so far is Leonidas. Coming straight from the Hoofdklasse they lost their first points last week versus De Treffers at home in a goalless draw.

TheAnswer87 has a new idol to follow on the amateur fields.

Ter Leede's Serge van den Ban. Saw him on Saturday against Rijnsburg and he looked ridiculously fat.

This is what a google search delivers

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

Last weekend GVVV (Saturday) and De Treffers (Sunday) have won the first period title. That means they can skip the first round of the KNVB Beker next season.

As we're coming near to the end it's time for some roundup I think. Before anyone asks, no team will go up to professional football as the Jupiler League 'pilot' is 'closed' for two seasons, next season will be the second.

Saturday
It's incredibly exciting in the Saturday part this season, many teams have been on top of the table, currently it looks like this. There's just three games to go with Veenendaal's blue side leading right now.
1. GVVV 27 - 48
2. HHC Hardenberg 27 - 45
3. Spakenburg 27 - 45
4. IJsselmeervogels 27 - 44
5. Rijnsburgse Boys 27 - 43
6. Kozakken Boys 27 - 43

At the bottom current overall amateur champions Katwijk are very close to relegation. Unbelievable and very sad for them as their arch rivals Quick Boys have good chances to go up. Probably not directly though.

Situation:
10. FC Lisse 27 - 38
11. Barendrecht 27 - 37
12. Capelle 27 - 37
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Noordwijk 27 - 33
- - - - - - - - - -
14. Excelsior'31 27 - 28
15. Katwijk 27 - 26
16. Ter Leede 27 - 22

Meanwhile from the Hoofdklasse Hoek have won the championship in B. In A it's between Sparta Nijkerk and Quick Boys with a four point margin in favour of Nijkerk. In C it's still all open between Flevo Boys, ACV, Genemuiden and Harkema.

Sunday
Amsterdam's elite club AFC have almost won the title as JVC choked after their cup adventure which ended in Zwolle. With three games to go AFC have got a 7 point lead over VVSB.

At the bottom it's somewhat more exciting. The Moroccans from Chabab have gone down and Juliana will very likely follow, but for the last relegation spot and the play-off spot it's still all open.

The table right now:
9. HSC'21 27 - 35
10. FC Lienden 27 - 25
11. WKE 27 - 32
12. ADO'20 27 - 32
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Haaglandia 27 - 29
- - - - - - - - - -
14. Be Quick 27 - 23
15. Juliana'31 27 - 19
16. Chabab 27 - 13 (-3)

WKE have gone bankrupt and will have to restart at the lowest possible level. That's not confirmed though, although very likely to happen. That could mean WKE move to the bottom place.

No one so far secured promotion to Topklasse. In A it's between the traditional clubs from Haarlem, former professionals EDO and Koninklijke HFC (you know, from the New Year's match versus the old international players ). In B it's between OJC, Blauw-Geel and Gemert while in C Hercules from Utrecht are leading five points over Quick'20 and six over MSC with just three games to go.

All within 1 game. Do they hand out a plate as well in the Topklasse? Imagine that there they have to be 5 plates then on the last day.

Certainly they do.

Look at the standings and tomorrow's schedule.

1. GVVV 28 - 48
2. HHC Hardenberg 28 - 48
3. Spakenburg 28 - 48
4. IJsselmeervogels 28 - 47
5. Rijnsburgse Boys 28 - 46

Tomorrow:
Excelsior'31 (14th) - IJsselmeervogels
GVVV - Rijnsburgse Boys
Spakenburg - HHC Hardenberg

There's one more round to be played after tomorrow's.

Not really. Next Saturday.

Barendrecht (11) - GVVV
Ter Leede (16) - Spakenburg
IJsselmeervogels - Kozakken Boys (7)

Ter Leede already are relegated. If GVVV and Spakenburg both win and finish equal I think an extra championship playoff shall be played (?).

As for relegation, champions Katwijk still have got a very small chance to reach the playoffs, they're three points behind Noordwijk.

HHC Hardenberg (4) - Katwijk (14)
Noordwijk (13) - Capelle (12)
