Only Toni Varela appeared in their goalles opening match draw versus South Africa.
Anyone following the Africa Cup?

Here an overview of all participating players from Dutch competitions.

South Africa
#10. Thulani Serero (Ajax)

Cape Verde
#4. Guy Ramos (RKC Waalwijk)
#8. Toni Varela (Sparta Rotterdam)
#13. Josimar Lima (Dordrecht)

Zambia
#7. Jacob Mulenga (FC Utrecht)

Nigeria
#22. Kenneth Omeruo (ADO Den Haag)

Ivory Coast
#12. Wilfried Bony (Vitesse)

These are the ones currently playing in the Netherlands. Beside them there's a few former Eredivisie players in, like El Ahmadi, El Hamdaoui, Assaidi and Amrabat for Morocco, Ahmed Musa for Nigeria and Salomon Kalou and Arouna Koné for Ivory Coast.
I might forget one or two...

So far I only saw Mulenga, Bony and Omeruo entering in the second half as a sub. Neither one of them could really impress in the few minutes they played. Mulenga and Omeruo drew their matches, Bony won in the dying seconds.

Tonight it's South Africa v Angola, followed by the Dutch Moroccans versus the Dutch Cape Verdians .

I haven't been watching it, but I am interested to hear about how El Ahmadi does

How's El Hamdaoui doing in Italy?

Well, a few minutes ago El Ahmadi made a mistake on the midfield deliviring the ball to a Cape Verdian player, the Cape Verdians hit Morocco on the counter attack very well and Platini opened the score!

Lovely to see such a small nation performing well on a big tournament. Toni Varela is playing for Cape Verde, Ramos and Lima are on the bench.

Morocco - Cape Verde finished 1-1.

Morocco started with all former Eredivisie players, Amrabat and Assaidi were subbed at half time as they couldn't impress on the wings. El Ahmadi and El Hamdaoui played the whole game.
Varela played the whole game for Cape Verde, Ramos came in to play the last 40 seconds of the regular time and five minutes of injury time.

It's a big result for Cape Verde, after their draw versus hosts South Africa they've drawn again against Morocco who're among the favourites to win this tournament. They've scored their first ever goal on the Africa Cup and still didn't lose a single match on the Africa Cup ever .

Agreed, but... look at their players, and compare them to the rest, I think only Ivory Coast and Ghana have better players?
I know it's not just about having the better players, but still, if they could play together with the right mentality just for once...

Morocco have to be the biggest chokers ever.

Some say Serbia but their attack has previously been mediocre with Pantelic or Zigic and there's been a lack of creativity. With Morocco, it's a joke whenever they play in the African Cup of Nations. THey have one of the best players in the French league in Belhanda in midfield, tricky wingers and still can't score

It's because they lack intelligent CM and DM. Many African nations lack that, especially north African ones...Btw how did Amrabat do?

Karim El Ahmadi is intelligent though as a central midfielder.

There has to be more about it.

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

Something somewhat unrelated, but a goalkeeper scored!
