Thanks Wally for the response.
I think the target for Aberdeen would be to finish in the Top 5 this season (e.g. the Europa qualification places). We have struggled recently but we have recently brought in the ex-Scotland boss Craig Brown and an excellent assistant in Archie Knox. The calibre of players signed over the summer has been pleasing and we are hopeful of competing in the top half of the table. That said, the players we have signed have all been defensive or midfield players and we have not replaced the most creative players from last season (Sone Aluko and Chris Maguire).
How would you describe Rigters’ playing style? Is he a second-striker or a winger type player? Someone who can create chances? Plays with his back to goal and links play?
This is the type of player who we are missing, Aluko and Maguire created most of our chances last season, and so far this season we have played three games with no goals scored (0-0, 0-1, 0-1 being the results).
Is there anyone more well-known who his style could be compared to?
And was he the stand-out player in (what must have been) a poor Willem II side?
