KNVB Beker 2011/2012

The draw will be in the first week of July, here already (almost) all participating teams.

- In the first round the 32 Topklasse clubs and 24 regional cup qualifiers will meet eachother, Saturday and Sunday teams will be drawn against eachother.
- In the second round the 28 winners will be joined by 36 professional clubs.
- First round will be played at 23, 24 and 25 August.

Amateur teams qualify by reaching the semi-finals in the regional cup. All clubs who play this season at the first three levels are automatically qualified.

Qualified teams.
- All Eredivisie clubs.
- All Jupiler League clubs.
- All Topklasse clubs.

Hoofdklasse (4th level)
Young Boys (Haarlem)
ODIN'59 (Heemskerk)
Zwaluwen'30 (Hoorn)
Scheveningen
Zwaluwen (Vlaardingen)
Voorschoten'97
Hoek
Urk
Staphorst
Sparta Nijkerk
EHC (Hoensbroek)
Groene Ster (Heerlerheide)
NEC amateurs (Nijmegen)
Be Quick 1887 (Groningen/Haren)

1e klasse (5th level)
Hoogland
Nemelaer (Haaren)
GOES
Someren

2e klasse (6th level)
Susteren
Actief (Paterswolde)

3e klasse (7th level)
VCK (Koudekerke)

That leaves 3 open spaces.
- In the regional West II cup it's complicated. With Lisse (Topklasse) and Westlandia 2 (reserve team) two teams qualified who can't qualify in the regional cup. The losing quarter finalists have to play for these two spots, but three out of four were Topklasse teams again. That leaves one open space. Untill now it's unknown what will happen with this spot, a tournament between the seven eligible losing 1/8 finalists? Something else?

- In the regional East cup, three Topklasse clubs qualified for the quarter finals. From the losing quarter finalists, only HSC'21 were qualified because of their promotion. That leaves two open spaces.
That means the other three, Alverna (5th level), Bennekom (4) and Sparta Nijkerk (4) are left. It's decided in the beginning of August they'll play eachother once, the best two advance to the KNVB Beker.

So, let's goooo!

Loting tweede ronde KNVB Beker (20, 21 en 22 september)
AZ - FC Groningen

As per usual in the cup, we're fresh out of luck.

Elsewhere, this could be veeery interesting if Scheveningen make it through:

Interesting draw for us, although i'm always scared in the early rounds as it has a potential to backfire in our face!

So yesterday Zwaluwen were the first team to advance, they've beaten Susteren 3-0 at home.

The rest of the matches will be played tonight.

Big surprise yesterday came from Harkema. Coming from 0-2 they equalised in injury time to beat Willem II after extra time, very well done.

Fortuna was very close to beat NEC, but here NEC equalised in injury time to finish it off in extra time.

Yesterday's results:
Tuesday September 20th
17.00
Montfoort (3) - Sparta Rotterdam (2) 1-6
18.45 (live on TV)
VVV-Venlo (1) - SC Heerenveen (1) 0-2
19.45 (live on TV)
Feyenoord (1) - AGOVV (2) 4-0
20.00
Cambuur Leeuwarden (2) - FC Zwolle (2) 0-1
Bennekom (4) - Roda JC (1) 1-6
Harkemase Boys (3) - Willem II (2) 4-2 a.e.t.
IJsselmeervogels (3) - FC Dordrecht (2) 0-2
Go Ahead Eagles (2) - Helmond Sport (2) 3-1
Fortuna Sittard (2) - NEC (1) 2-4 a.e.t.
WKE (3) - FC Den Bosch(2) 1-2
Sparta Nijkerk (3) - Staphorst (4) 4-2 a.e.t.
EVV (3) - FC Oss (2) 1-5
Excelsior ‘31 (3) - Excelsior (2) 0-5
Zwaluwen ‘30 (4) - GVVV (3) 1-2
ARC (3) - MVV (2) 0-8

Yeah brilliant goal, but useless unfortunately... last season we were the luckiest in the penalties, now we weren't...

Utrecht and VVV both out of the cup at their first match, nah, at least next season it can't be worse.

Visited the JVC-Heracles match, during the first half JVC defended and just got one goal against, Heracles dominated but wasn't really dangerous. In the second half JVC got huge chances and was by far the better team. Pasveer was brilliant and JVC quite unlucky, such a pity because they could've done it certainly. Great match but a bad end...

ADO was very lucky in Scheveningen btw, Scheveningen was equal to them. Just as Argon versus Almere. Surprise of the evening of course came from Zwolle, well done to Berkum!

Wednesday September 21st
17.00
Zwaluwen (4) - FC Twente (1) 1-8
Scheveningen (4) - ADO Den Haag (1) 1-3
18.45 (live on TV)
Noordwijk (3) - Ajax (1) 1-3
20.00
VVSB (3) - PSV (1) 0-8
SC Genemuiden (3) - HSC ‘21 (3) 3-1
Argon (3) - Almere City FC (2) 0-2
JVC Cuijk (3) - Heracles Almelo (1) 0-1
De Treffers (3) - HHC Hardenberg (3) 3-2
UNA (3) - FC Volendam (2) 1-3
Berkum (4) - BV Veendam (2) 2-0
FC Hilversum (3) - RKC Waalwijk (2) 0-3
FC Eindhoven (2) - FC Emmen (2) 3-1
HBS (3) - FC Lisse (3) 2-3
20.45 (live on TV)
De Graafschap (1) - FC Utrecht (1) 1-1, Graafschap w.a.p.

Tonight the last two matches will be followd by the draw. Probably if it's not raining I'll visit Achilles-Telstar on my bike , certainly expect a 'surprise' there, go Achilles!

Good draw for us.

Nice to see Ajax get a hard one for a change.

Vd Broom also gets yet another game against his old club this season. That should be interesting.

Shame that we still don't have the same rule as the Germans that the amatuer sides always play at home when facing a pro team. Much nicer to see a packed stadium of 3000 than 6000 out of 30000 in for example the Grolsch Veste.

Shame that there wasn't a good replay of Asare's penalty, because it bounced back so soon that you couldn't see if was in or not.

Just because it wasn't posted yet and there's not much news during these extreme boring international weekends, here the exact kickoff times and dates of the next cup matches.
There's nothing better than cup football imo, really love it untill the quarter or semi-finals.

Tuesday October 25th
18:45
SC Heerenveen - Harkemase Boys
20:00
Excelsior - GVVV
Achilles '29 - MVV Maastricht
Almere City FC - FC Eindhoven
FC Oss - FC Den Bosch
20:45
FC Zwolle - RKC Waalwijk

Wednesday October 26th
18:45
Vitesse - ADO Den Haag
20:00
Sparta Rotterdam - Sparta Nijkerk
Heracles Almelo - Berkum
PSV - FC Lisse
FC Twente - SC Genemuiden
De Treffers - De Graafschap
20:45
Roda JC Kerkrade - Ajax

Thursday October 27th
18:45
FC Dordrecht - AZ
20:00
NEC - FC Volendam
20:45
Go Ahead Eagles - Feyenoord

As my teams were eliminated in the first round as usual I do support all the amateurs teams left of course. Especially the Groesbeek teams who both have got a good chance to advance, although Achilles a bit more than De Treffers I think. Hope to visit both matches.
If MVV beats Achilles I hope they draw Roda at home, because they of course will beat Ajax . PSV are already through while also Feyenoord normally shouldn't have big troubles in Deventer, although with a bit luck that can be an interesting one too. As for the rest it's a pity most higher ranked teams play at home, that should be changed just like in Germany imo, amateurs always should play at home and actually Eerste Divisie sides versus Eredivisie ones too.

Yeah we're not looking forward to the trip to Grosebeek going by their form and record in cup competitions it will not be easy. I can't see Roda winning against Ajax but if they do and draw MVV it will be a game i would need to make a special trip for!

Another interesting tie is Vitesse-ADO, I was at the Kyocera in August (0-0) and although it wasn't the best game i feel the cup meeting will produce a bit more excitement especially given the recent events between the two teams.

the south will rise again...hell to some, angels to others
