Lower Leagues '10/'11

Here a thread for the Hoofdklasse, 4th level, the definite groups are known some days...

Saturday A
Excelsior Maassluis
Huizen
Jodan Boys (Gouda)
Noordwijk
ODIN'59 (Heemskerk)
Quick Boys (Katwijk aan Zee)
Scheveningen (Den Haag)
Swift (Amsterdam)
Ter Leede (Sassenheim)
Vitesse Delft
Volendam
Voorschoten'97
Young Boys (Haarlem)
Zwaluwen'30 (Hoorn)

Big favourites here of course giants Quick Boys who definitely will promote to Topklasse asap. Young Boys are very ambitious while last season Hoofdklassers like Noordwijk, Zwaluwen and Scheveningen normally challenge for the title too.
Especially Scheveningen, they've signed Sjakie Polak .

Saturday B
ASWH (Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht)
DTS'35 (Ede)
GVVV (Veenendaal)
Heerjansdam
Kloetinge
Kozakken Boys (Werkendam)
LRC Leerdam
Montfoort
Nieuw-Lekkerland
NSC (Nijkerk)
Rijsoord (Ridderkerk)
RVVH (Ridderkerk)
XerxesDZB (Rotterdam)
Zwaluwen (Vlaardingen)

Big favourites for me are here Kozakken Boys and ASWH. There's a nice Ridderkerk derby for what it's worth (got no clue) while DTS'35 joined as last one as lucky loser after ARC's Topklasse-playoff win over Be Quick 1887.

Saturday C
ACV (Assen)
Berkum
DETO (Vriezenveen)
Drachtster Boys (Drachten)
DVS'33 (Ermelo)
HZVV (Hoogeveen)
Nunspeet
ONS Sneek
Oranje Nassau (Groningen)
PKC'83 (Groningen)
SDC Putten
Staphorst
SVZW (Wierden)
WHC (Wezep)

The east region, nice to see some big clubs like DETO and Drachtster Boys back at a reasonable level. Two Oranje Nassau's in here as well.
Favourites? Hard to say, I'd bet on ACV or WHC I think.

Sunday A
ADO'20 (Heemskerk)
AFC'34 (Alkmaar)
Alphense Boys (Alphen a/d Rijn)
FC Chabab (Amsterdam)
DHC (Delft)
Elinkwijk (Utrecht)
SC Feyenoord (Rotterdam)
HBS (Den Haag)
IFC (Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht)
JOS / Watergraafsmeer (Amsterdam)
Leonidas (Rotterdam)
Nieuwenhoorn
Westlandia (Naaldwijk)
De Zouaven (Grootebroek)

Also here some traditional sides are back like DHC with their beautifull ground.
No clue about favourties, it's the former Zondag A of course where I knew nothing about, but I'd say Westlandia for the title here.

Sunday B
Blauw Geel'38 (Veghel)
De Valk (Valkenswaard)
DESK (Kaatsheuvel)
Deurne
Dongen
EHC (Hoensbroek)
Juliana'31 (Malden)
OJC Rosmalen
Papendrecht
Schijndel
sv Meerssen
sv Venray
UDI 19 (Uden)
UNA (Veldhoven)

Here we find the only two (!) Hoofdklasse clubs from Limburg . Papendrecht won't be happy with this group as they're the only one from Zuid-Holland among only teams from Brabant, and two from Limburg, and ok, one from Gelderland.
Deurne are back and I think immediately a favourite for the title. Also interesting to see will be what Dongen can do after their brilliant cup win from a few weeks ago.

Sunday C
Alcides (Meppel)
Babberich
Be Quick 1887 (Groningen)
FVC (Leeuwarden)
Hoogeveen
HSC'21 (Haaksbergen)
MSC-Antaris (Meppel)
NEC amateurs (Nijmegen)
Rheden
Rigtersbleek (Enschede)
RKHVV (Huissen)
Rohda Raalte
Sneek Wit-Zwart
WKE (Emmen)

Clear favourites here are of course Be Quick 1887 and WKE who both want asap to Topklasse. It's a strong group with HSC'21 included as well. As for the rest there's a nice derby in Meppel and a huge geographical spreading from Nijmegen to Leeuwarden.

- - - - -

My favourite Hoofdklasse team is Venray but I don't expect miracles from them, hope to see some nice derbies although most are unknown for me so I don't know really which ones are exciting to visit.

Excellent stuff - I think there will be some real mismatches in this "first" season of the new Hoofdklasse while the big sides wait for promotion to the Topklasse.

I'll check my rankings tomorrow and see who the statistics say will be challenging.

At first glance Zondag B looks the strongest league.

Any news on how promotion from here to the Topklasse will work - how many places are they fighting for?

Go Chabab!

As far as I know, from each Topklasse numbers 14, 15 and 16 relegate directly. Number 13 has to play a playoff with the overall Hoofdklasse period champion.

About the statistics, they're surely nice, but doesn't really mean something to me in the amateur leagues, Topklasse excluded, because at once there can be a big sponsor helping to club to rise, as well at once a big sponsor can leave and start the downfall of a club.

It's interesting to see for sure anyway, the stats.

TONEGIDO don't exist anymore, they went bankrupt.

They're a former Hoofdklasse and amateurcup winner.

As the first periodwinners are known, it's time for a Hoofdklasse roundup I think . Let's start with the Saturday leagues.

(numbers one go up directly, period winners will enter a playoff with the Topklasse number 13s, 11 and 12 will enter a playoff with the Eerste Klasse period winners, 13 and 14 go down directly)

Saturday A
1. Noordwijk 7 - 17
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Quick Boys 7 - 13
3. Young Boys 7 - 13
4. Scheveningen 7 - 12
5. Zwaluwen '30 7 - 12
6. Excelsior M. 7 - 12
7. Volendam 7 - 12
8. Voorschoten '97 7 - 9
9. ODIN '59 7 - 8
10. Huizen 7 - 8
- - - - - - - - - -
11. Ter Leede 7 - 8
12. Jodan Boys 7 - 5
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Vitesse Delft 7 - 3
14. Swift 7 - 3

This is the most interesting league for me. The big and famous Quick Boys had a horrible season last season and that's because they're now here. That hurts in the southern blue parts of Katwijk.
However, they were not the only one who missed promotion to the Topklasse, with them where local rivals Noordwijk. Not surprisingly it's these two teams who're topping the table. Because Noordwijk are leading by four points they won the first period and are ensured of the possibility of going up at least at the end of the season.
These two Bollenstreek-giants are followed by the very ambitious Young Boys from Haarlem who've outspoken the ambition of going up straight from the Eerste Klasse last season to Topklasse next season.
As for the rest no real surprises, or it must be Ter Leede and Jodan Boys, last season Hoofdklasse too, being at the relegation-playoff spots. It's good to see a former Hoofdklasse-giant, Huizen, being in front of those spots though.

My prediction right now is that the title will be a fight between Noordwijk and Quick Boys with Young Boys winning a period too. It's hard to say who'll win the last playoff spot, but probably one of the followers.

Saturday B
1. GVVV 7 - 18
- - - - - - - - - -
2. XerxesDZB 7 - 16
3. Montfoort 7 - 11
4. Nieuw Lekkerland 7 - 10
5. RVVH 7 - 10
6. ASWH 6 - 9
7. Kloetinge 7 - 8
8. Kozakken Boys 7 - 7
9. Rijsoord 7 - 7
10. LRC Leerdam 7 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
11. DTS Ede 5 - 6
12. NSC 7 - 6
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Zwaluwen 6 - 5
14. Heerjansdam 7 - 5

In this league the biggest club is leading the pack. It's as expected and it's a team who belong at the highest level anyway, so it's good to see the there.
As for the rest I'm a bit surprised, big clubs like Kozakken Boys and ASWH are still struggling, just like last season. Newcomers Xerxes and Montfoort are doing surprisingly well.

Saturday C
1. SDC Putten 7 - 17
- - - - - - - - - -
2. ACV 7 - 14
3. WHC 7 - 13
4. ONS Sneek 7 - 12
5. Drachtster Boys 7 - 12
6. SVZW 7 - 11
7. Berkum 7 - 11
8. DVS '33 Ermelo 7 - 10
9. DETO 7 - 10
10. Nunspeet 7 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
11. Staphorst 7 - 6
12. HZVV 7 - 5
- - - - - - - - - -
13. PKC '83 7 - 5
14. Oranje Nassau 7 - 4

My bets before the season were ACV and WHC, they're doing well but SDCP are in the lead and need just one more points, in two weeks at home to Drachten, to ensure the first period title.
Probably these first four will fight untill the end for the title, have nothing really more to add but it's no surprise to see the two small Groningen-based clubs at the bottom, also they're no real addition to this league so no one will worry to see them go down.

The Sunday overview...

Sunday A
1. FC Chabab 7 - 15
- - - - - - - - - -
2. ADO'20 7 - 13
3. HBS 7 - 13
4. Leonidas 7 - 11
5. AFC'34 7 - 11
6. Westlandia 7 - 10
7. Feyenoord amateurs 7 - 9
8. Elinkwijk 7 - 9
9. Nieuwenhoorn 7 - 9
10. JOS/Watergraafsmeer 7 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
11. Alphense Boys 7 - 7
12. De Zouaven 7 - 6
- - - - - - - - - -
13. DHC 7 - 6
14. IFC 7 - 5

As you know this is the league I know least about. Visited the DHC-Westlandia game last week though, just to see DHC's beautifull old ground during a match. Unfortunately DHC are at a very dangerous place right now.
Very well done from Chabab, imagine them in the Topklasse! ADO'20 or Elinkwijk are teams who traditionally belong there but in some way you got to have respect for Chabab too, performing with minimum facilities.

Sunday B
1. UNA 7 - 17
- - - - - - - - - -
2. DESK 7 - 15
3. EHC 7 - 13
4. Dongen 7 - 11
5. OJC Rosmalen 6 - 10
6. Juliana'31 7 - 10
7. sv Meerssen 7 - 10
8. UDI'19 7 - 9
9. Deurne 7 - 9
10. Blauw-Geel'38 7 - 9
- - - - - - - - - -
11. De Valk 7 - 7
12. Papendrecht 7 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Venray 7 - 6
14. Schijndel 7 - 0

Here my regional league. First look at the two bottom teams, Venray who've been chasing for a Topklasse spot and lost in a final playoff versus VVSB and later WKE and Be Quick 1887. Don't know what brings them in that position, but on the other hand they're just four points behind the sixth spot, so nothing is lost yet.
Schijndel seem to have lost out though, not a single win yet! Unique and very worrying.
Don't know really what to expect, who to win this league etc. UNA or EHC would be good additions for the Topklasse although I'd prefer Venray, Deurne or UDI for example.

Sunday C
1. HSC'21 7 - 18
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Be Quick 1887 7 - 14
3. Alcides 7 - 14
4. MSC Antaris 7 - 13
5. NEC amateurs 7 - 13
6. Babberich 7 - 12
7. Hoogeveen 7 - 11
8. RKHVV 7 - 10
9. WKE 7 - 9
10. Rigtersbleek 7 - 8
- - - - - - - - - -
11. Rohda Raalte 7 - 6
12. FVC 7 - 5
- - - - - - - - - -
13. Sneek Wit Zwart 7 - 2
14. Rheden 7 - 0

Ouch! What happend with the overall amateur champion from 2009? They're standing anonymously in a mid-table position, that must hurt at het woonwagenkamp. Remarkable too is Sneek's low position.
HSC'21 and Be Quick as expected at the top, the men from Haaksbergen won the first period because of their four points margin. Both teams are nice additions to the Topklasse. Funny to see the Meppel teams at third and fourth position next to eachother, hope to visit the derby next month.

This is the probably the only website you’ll need.
http://www.voetbalnederland.nl/

But also useful are…
http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/sc...tbal-nederland
and
http://www.hollandsevelden.nl/competities/

For Saturday’s non-league…
http://www.voetbalopzaterdag.com/

And for Saturday and Sunday Topklasse...

On Saturday that's certainly possible, even did it last Saturday with Genemuiden-Harkema and Utrecht-De Graafschap. On Sunday it will be hard as Eredivisie games kickoff at possibly 12.30, 14.30 and 16.30, but normally all amateur games at 14.30 too.

Two amateur games, however, very likely won't be possible, only could do it twice so far, but was very lucky with the kickoff times...

28/02/2009 - WHC - VV Staphorst 1-0
28/02/2009 - Flevo Boys - Harkemase Boys 1-6

and...

14/03/2009 - VV Staphorst - SC Genemuiden 1-2
14/03/2009 - Be Quick'28 - VV Berkum 1-1

Both second games were 18.00h games.

In December, watch out for postponements, nowadays many teams play on artificial grass but still quite a lot don't which means games quite soon get cancelled with bad weather, especially with frost.

For Sunday east and northern football there's www.zondaghoofdklasse.nl as well.

Welcome on here btw , where you're from, Dutch or Scottish?
Probably Dutch as I can't imagine a Scotsman being an MVV or STVV fan, or you must be a Scottish Kanarie .

You got 2 Scottish Feyenoord fans on the web though

1 Hearts fan on here and a gabberstyle hardcore fan on Fey netwerk.to

but yeah MVV - can't think of anything exciting about them even if you watch eurogoals as a foreigner.

Emerson from the late 90s maybe?

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Thanks Knoert and everyone else, yes i am a Scottish Kanarie and it is through them that my interest began with MVV. I used to watch Feyenoord in the 1990's but began supporting MVV more after going to watch their games. They have had their fare share of troubles over the past few years and it's not the best football at times but i like the atmosphere and the ultras have welcomed me and it has become a bit of an extended family to me. I am Scottish born and travel from Scotland to watch MVV and yes i am crazy!

Next trip to watch them is December - Leeuwarden away as long as it is not postponed!

Haha that can't be true . Actually it was a joke but it's true! Brilliant!

Think MVV are among the clubs with the best atmosphere in the Jupiler League, although I think Fortuna were better in the last two derbies, you've been there too?
Anyway just like Fortuna I'd like to see you on the highest level, although I realise myself that's not possible in the following years, perhaps on the long term. It must be possible in the capital of Limburg...

You're going to Leeuwarden? Uff, accidentally I saw MVV in Veendam about a month or so ago and you did bring about 35 away fans I think (not weird as it's the longest distance in Dutch professional football a club has to travel). It won't be many more in Leeuwarden, although I think it's worth travelling as Cambuur are a club which can be compared to MVV, a kind of a sleeping giant still attracting a lot of fans for Jupiler League terms...

Anyway welcome on the forum, good to have a Jupiler League club fan over here . (especially as VVV are there probably too next season)

...

HZVV - WHC 5-4 (1-4)
5. Denis Mahmudov 0-1, 10. Bas Bloemen 0-2, 14. Jolf Stel 0-3, 21. Jolf Stel 0-4, 30. Marco Hartman 1-4, 58. Vincent Tigelaar 2-4, 67. Jasper van der Stouw 3-4, 90. Frank Strijker 4-4, 90+2 Marco Hartman 5-4

Does anyone know the kick off times for any lower league games near Amsterdam on Saturday 4th December? I want an early kick off so i can still make Ajax-NEC. Any ideas?

Depends on where you care about, the ground, the level of play etc. but also how do you want to travel, by public travel or car?

Anyway, there's more than enough matches to pick, here some of them.
Kickofftimes will be between 14.00 and 15.00, in a few days they'll be announced.

Topklasse
ARC - Barendrecht Alphen aan den Rijn
Capelle - CSV Apeldoorn Capelle aan de IJssel
FC Lisse - Spakenburg Lisse
Rijnsburgse Boys - Excelsior'31 Rijnsburg
IJsselmeervogels - Harkemase Bloys Bunschoten-Spakenburg

Hoofdklasse A
Excelsior Maassluis - Ter Leede Maassluis
Jodan Boys - Volendam Gouda
Quick Boys - Huizen Katwijk aan Zee
Swift - Noordwijk Amsterdam
Voorschoten'97 - Scheveningen Voorschoten
Young Boys - ODIN'59 Haarlem
Zwaluwen'30 - Vitesse Delft Hoorn

Hoofdklasse B
ASWH - LRC Leerdam Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht

Eerste Klasse
Numerous choices, for example
HBOK - Veensche Boys Amsterdam

Think all of these can be done by public travel in combination with Ajax. However, be aware for games to be called off!
