Topklasse '10/'11

Yeah I know we've got the lower leagues thread, but here just an overview of the teams qualified (so far)...

If Veendam goes bankrupt it's very likely FC Oss will stay in the Jupiler League and the Topklasse will only exist out of current Hoofdklasse teams.

Qualified are...
- The top-4 of each Hoofdklasse.
- Hoofdklasse nr 5s and 6s play playoffs with eachother, six more teams qualify.
- The losers of the Saturday and Sunday play eachother, seperated, in a group, the two winners makes the total number of 16 participants.

At this moment (may 2nd), qualified are...
Saturday
1. Barendrecht
2. Capelle
3. IJsselmeervogels (Spakenburg)
4. Sparta Nijkerk
5. Spakenburg
6. Excelsior'31 (Rijssen)
7. Harkemase Boys
8. Flevo Boys (Emmeloord)
9. Rijnsburgse Boys
10. Hoek
11. CSV Apeldoorn
12. FC Lisse
13. Katwijk / GVVV (Veenendaal)
14. ARC (Alphen/Rijn) / SC Genemuiden
15. HHC Hardenberg / Zwaluwen'30 (Hoorn)
16. FC Oss or a playoff loser

Sunday
1. AFC (Amsterdam)
2. FC Hilversum
3. Gemert
4. De Treffers (Groesbeek)
5. FC Lienden
6. Argon (Mijdrecht)
7. Haaglandia (Rijswijk)
8. Baronie (Breda)
9. Achilles'29 (Groesbeek)
10. JVC Cuijk
11. EVV (Echt)
12. Quick'20 (Oldenzaal)
13. Venray / VVSB (Noordwijkerhout)
14. Be Quick 1887 (Groningen) / Dijkse Boys (Helmond)
15. Hollandia (Hoorn) / WKE (Emmen)
16. FC Oss or a playoff loser

Probably next weekend several will join, the main surprises will probably follow in the playoffs...

Biggest ones to miss out so far in my opinion are Quick Boys, HHC Hardenberg, HSC'21, Elinkwijk, Westlandia, Kozakken Boys and Katwijk, but we're not at the end yet .

What will the FC Katwijkers do if it's not a Saturday league?

Not that any of their players are religious. Nor if you see the plebs supporting Quick Boys.

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

As far as I know, both winners will do an all-amateur-final, the winner gets the right to go up, but probably will refuse.

Probably the Katwijk derby next season will be played in the Hoofdklasse just like in previous seasons, just with one big difference, it's fourth instead of third level...

About the Saturday / Sunday issue, don't know if it's really that important for the Bollenstreek clubs, but for sure in Spakenburg and surrounding they won't ever play on Sunday in the near future.

Meanwhile we know a lot more, here the current situation...

Saturday
1. Barendrecht
2. Capelle
3. IJsselmeervogels (Spakenburg)
4. Sparta Nijkerk
5. Spakenburg
6. Excelsior'31 (Rijssen)
7. Harkemase Boys

9. Rijnsburgse Boys
10. Hoek
11. CSV Apeldoorn
12. FC Lisse
13. Katwijk / GVVV (Veenendaal)
14. ARC (Alphen/Rijn) / SC Genemuiden
15. HHC Hardenberg / Zwaluwen'30 (Hoorn)
16. FC Oss or a playoff loser

Sunday
1. AFC (Amsterdam)
2. FC Hilversum
3. Gemert
4. De Treffers (Groesbeek)
5. FC Lienden
6. Argon (Mijdrecht)
7. Haaglandia (Rijswijk)
8. Baronie (Breda)
9. Achilles'29 (Groesbeek)
10. JVC Cuijk

14. Be Quick 1887 (Groningen) / Dijkse Boys (Helmond)
15. Hollandia (Hoorn) / WKE (Emmen)
16. FC Oss or a playoff loser

The playoff losers will play a mini-league, Saturday and Sunday seperated. Both winners will face eachother for one spot, if a Saturday team wins FC Oss joins the Sunday Topklasse and other way round. If Veendam goes bankrupt both Saturday and Sunday winner will enter the Topklasse.

First playoff results are in...

Katwijk - GVVV 1-0
HHC Hardenberg - Zwaluwen'30 5-1

ARC and Genemuiden kicked off at 4pm.

HHC can't give it away anymore in Hoorn, remember where they're coming from, sensational comeback and very exciting end on the last day, WHC equalised far in injury time at ACV which qualified HHC for this playoff, now they're in...
Between Katwijk and GVVV everything can still happen I think...

ARC has beaten Genemuiden 1-0 at home.

Quite surprising all home teams, and numbers six finishers, won and have beaten the numbers five.

However, Genemuiden and GVVV have still a good chance.

btw, as Veendam are officially dead the losers all get a new chance, both in Saturday and Sunday, to qualify for the last spot.

Playoff results, in brackets aggregate score.

Saturday
Zwaluwen'30 - HHC 1-1 (2-6) (1450)
SC Genemuiden - ARC 3-0 (3-1) (2200)
GVVV - Katwijk 0-1 (0-2) (2500)

Sunday
Dijkse Boys - Be Quick 1887 2-1 (2-1)
tomorrow
Venray - VVSB (0-2)
WKE - Hollandia (1-1)

I'm content with the teams who qualified in Saturday, these all are traditional teams who belong in the Topklasse. Katwijk's qualification will definitely hurt at Quick Boys who always have been the best club of the town, also there won't be a derby next season...
As for Sunday I preferred Be Quick over Dijkse Boys, but they won so they did it themself. Well done to them.
Tomorrow probably VVSB and WKE will qualify although fingers crossed for Venray, think I'll visit that one...

After tomorrow we'll have to wait what happens, there definitely will be a 'losers' competition for one place, in that case the Saturday 'losers'-winner will play the Sunday 'losers'-winner. If there are two places both winners of the losers competition qualify.
Don't know when things will be known, Veendam are still in court against their bankruptcy and looking for sponsors.

So I went to Venray this afternoon. The away side, supported by about 400 fans who travelled all the way from Noordwijkerhout, were better in the opening phase but couldn't find the net. Venray fought itself back in the game and both teams went to the half time break at 0-0.
Not long after the break a VVSB player saw the red card, from that moment VVSB started to slow the game down as much as possible and making a lot of foults. These foults were not or very soft punished by the referee. This referee, coming from Leeuwarden, gave a free kick to Venray for a foul in the box (!), Venray scored the free kick anyway but couldn't find the net another time despite they were very close a few times. Unfortunately the referee didn't add enough time (should've been at least 7 minutes) and VVSB could start to celebrate.

Venray joins the losers competition now with WKE, who surprisingly lost at home to Hollandia, and Be Quick 1887. Personally I expect WKE or Be Quick 1887 to qualify / to play the Saturday losers champion.

Good news for Veendam, they think they've got enough money now to survive, on june 8th the judge will pass a judgement on it.

For Topklasse that means the losers of the playoffs have to face eachother in a final clash while FC Oss will end up here too...

VEENDAM ARE SAVED!

The judge cancelled the bankruptcy of the club. Veendam now has to meet a lot of regulations but it seems they'll make it!

That means they'll stay in Eerste Divisie and both winners of the loserscompetition have to face eachother.

Veendam are saved, but now MVV are in deep trouble, it keeps going on...

Anyway, for sure last seasons overall champions WKE won't enter the Topklasse, at home they lost surprisingly 0-3 versus Venray.

WKE visits Be Quick 1887 but have nothing to play for, Be Quick need to beat them by at least three goals as the first match between them and Venray finished 1-1. WKE's motivation could be they prefer Be Quick in their Hoofdklasse next season as it isn't that for, especially not compared to Venray but they will be in seperate ones anyway...

In the Saturday side first GVVV have beaten Zwaluwen 6-1, ARC have beaten them 3-1 and GVVV and ARC face eachother next Saturday in Alphen a/d Rijn. The winner of that match will play the winner of the Sunday part.

Spelers MVV wellicht donderdag transfervrij

(Trouw)
So the coach is gone and the players can leave on a free transfer on thursday...

12. FC Lisse
13. Katwijk
14. SC Genemuiden
15. HHC Hardenberg
16. FC Oss or ARC/GVVV/Be Quick/Venray

Sunday
1. AFC (Amsterdam)
2. FC Hilversum
3. Gemert
4. De Treffers (Groesbeek)
5. FC Lienden
6. Argon (Mijdrecht)
7. Haaglandia (Rijswijk)
