Polish teams in Eurocups

Pre-eliminary rounds have been drawn.

In the CL qualifiers Legia will play Tallinna VMK or FimleikafÚlag Hafnarfjarar from Iceland. Shouldn't be too difficult, but after these games we'll need plenty of luck in the 3rd qualifying round.

Zaglebie Lubin weren't that lucky, they will play Dinamo Minsk from Belarus.

Both Wislas join the competition in the next qualifying round.

Zaglebie Lubin "lost" to Dinamo Minsk 1-1p
Congratulations!!
After match Lubin goalkeeper Liberda said that he want to score a goal in Minsk in the second leg because of todays error he did.
Match was pretty borring, Zaglebie plays firt league match 30th July and it was visible.

Not a bad result, taking into consideration that Zaglebie fielded only nine players Alunderis and Bartczak seemed confused as for actual team they were supposed to be playing for And that Liberda's error

A boring game indeed. Dinamo had better midfield, Zaglebie was more dangerous up front.

What really struck me, it wasn't Zaglebie's poor physical shape, but lack of motivation. They didn't push forward even when Dinamo equalized, and their coach brought off their best players. I mean, it's strange that qualification into Eurocups is declared as an objective of great importance, yet when they arrive you seem as if you didn't care.

I think Zaglebie still has a chance, but Dinamo are obvious favourites to progress now.

Legia will actually face the winner of Latvian side FHK Liepajas Metalurgs and FK Aktobe from Kazakhstan. :smileani:

Can anyone tell me why Smuda is no longer the coach of Lubin? Was he fired? What is he doing now?

Smuda didn't extend his contract with Zaglebia as he got a lucrative () offer from Lech Poznan. He had a nightmare start as a coach here (being eliminated from the Intertoto Cup by a Moldavian side is not something we can be proud about), but let's hope Lech will do much better in the Orange Ekstraklasa

I think you're wrong Polishsoccer. It's either FC TVMK Tallinn or FH Hafnarfjordur Legia will play against in the secound quafilying round.

I was just going by what they have at http://www.90minut.pl/rozgrywki.php?id=2536 , I guess that is wrong.

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL...Id=435473.html has the right info.

Hafnarfjordur - Legia 0-1 (Elton Rodrigues Brandao - 83)
I curious how much costed friendly wins against the teams like OM/PSG, is it some new marketing trick ? p
Now serious, rather poor match, Lagia had a big lack of concentration and determination, they look like they were on holidays, almoust no pressing, slow running and thinking.... Antihero - Choto
Despite of all - CONGRATULATIONS !!!
Arsenal, Liverpool etc..... BEWARE!! :smileani:

Yeah, a dull game... I'm glad we won though, that's the only thing that counts after all.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for Zaglebie tomorrow...

Legias set pieces were so shite , so many wasted chances, mistakes, Legia is really poor. Maybe Wdowczyk isnt that good coach after all:rollani: . Painful show.

Another polish team out of the Cups. Zaglebie Lubin couldnt beat Dinamo it was ever worse show than Legia yesterday. Pathetic. Polish football rules .
Three polish clubs still in Euro Cups though. The draw for both Wislas tomorrow.

Similar to the draw that Hearts got really. Playing against a difficult team but managing to avoid bigger, more dangerous opponents that were in the draw.

Shakhtar have got huge spending power though, so it's still going to be a big task trying to get into the group stages for Legia, but not as impossible as it would have been had you drawn one of the very top sides, assuming you get past the Icelandic team of course.

Best of luck.

I think it's a tough draw for Legia, Shakhtar are a really solid team.

I have mixed feelings. I'd say it's 70/30 in Shakhtar's favour, they have some quality players (e.g. Matuzalem, Srna, Tymoshchuk, Agahowa, Vorobey) and are overall a much more experienced team, but why shouldn't we try? They aren't Valencia or Arsenal after all, and we hunger for glory

The draw could've been better for Wisla Krakow. Mattersburg is a solid side, and Austrian teams have improved greatly.

As for Plock's chances, well, I have no idea...

Two of those players might not be available to Shaktar by the time Legia faces them though.

I've heard that Srna is almost certain to join a Premiership team this summer, and hopefully Tymoschuk will be signing for Celtic before long as well.

Good luck to Wisla in their European match too of course, but i have no knowledge on their opponents at all.
