Not a bad team but I would replace Schweinsteiger with Xabi Alonso. Schweinsteiger has been disappointing.

Schweinsteiger had an abysmal tournament to the extent that large sections of the German media and public wanted him dropped

He was useless against Portugal, Denmark and last night again against Italy. His fitness is the problem and I think he has also succumbed to this Bayern choking curse from the end of the club season

Some are pretty much given, such as Pirlo, Iniesta, Khedira and De Rossi, the rest it depends somewhat on what goes down on Sunday.

So far I'd say

Buffon

Defence: undecided,Pepe,undecided,Coentrao

Midfield: Pirlo,Khedira,De Rossi,Iniesta

Attack: Balotelli-Cristiano Ronaldo

I haven't really been paying that much attention though. Given the quality of the matches, you really can't blame me either.

I agree he was below par - but when you're the player who ran the most out of every other player in the tournament - your fitness isn't really the problem.

Don't waste your time on jealously; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind.

The race is long, and in the end - it's only with yourself.

I had a lot of difficulty not picking Błaszczykowski, but it made the team look a bit too weak. I could have snuck Papadapoulos in there for his huge frame but it wasn't enough against Germany. Bonucci, Ramos and the like could have easily featured but I liked Chiellini, he has been rather assured at the back. Xabi is a fair pick I think, perhaps even Spain's strongest player. To be fair to Mario Gomez, he was outstanding. Never missed a chance but he never featured enough. Ibrahimovic for all his beauty on the ball capped with a class finish simply deserves to be there. Jiracek, the Czech's only hope carrying them through with his creative skill and confidence couldn't be overlooked. Buffon has also been excellent and is perhaps the only other person who can change my mind and enter the sheet after the final has been played.

Ramos has to be a fix starter in any line up - has had a moster tourny. Spain has only given up one goal
