Italy - Croatia (Thursday, 18:00 CET)

FORZA ITALIA!

What do you guys think? This will be a close and tense game, a loss for Italy would almost virtually send us out, so I think we will be happy with a draw and relying on beating Ireland in the last, but will also go for the win here.

Like you say I predict a close game but Italy will end winning this I think.

I don't think Italy will have much trouble to win this one.

I think goals will come from Croatia.

Italy will have to score more.

Yeah I am also a little more nervous with DDR at CB in this one because he will be playing against 2 proper strikers who will move much better. He had trouble when Torres came on v Spain too, but Torres wasted finishing.

I hope DDR starts for Italy in the backfield, as he was starting to get exposed by Torres when he came on. Outside of that I think it will be tight, Italy's midfield seems very average to me(outside of Pirlo of course), while our Center Backs aren't exactly the most mobile. But our weakness has been set pieces, and since the Italians don't have too much height(outside of Balotelli, who i think will start because Di Natale cannot play an entire game) I worry less about that.

even though I am curious to know if Prandelli will continue with the 3-5-2 formation? By all accounts he just might, which would be interesting considering we will play a 4-1-3-2. The Italians just may dominate that midfield with that extra player in there.

Croatia is a boogie team for Italy.

and they certainly have a tricky team with Modric creating and Jelavic being able to pick up goals out of nothing.

Italy need to sharpen up the attack and be more deadly.

I remember Italia VS Croatia in WC 2002 !!, Italy had about 3 goal wrongly disallowed & Totti had a wonder FK that hit the post and passed behing the GK !!.. Memories.

About the game i see Croatia giving Italy hardtime but Italy will win in the end.

this euro is interesting enough..we have still have big game everyday. i rate this match hight tbh. Croatia, their enthusiasm, talented players, brilliant fans in every game against the big azzuri team and serie A stars, it should be an exciting occasion.

generally, i predict italy to win, maybe 1-0 or 2-1

I have a feeling that Croatia will score at least one. But I also think it will finish as a score draw. I don't know why, this is my feeling.

Very interesting game. I'd like to see how good Croats are this time around.

I think it must have been the 1995 game in Split, didnt Bucci get sent off for Italy for a handball outside the area?

Also as stated above by someone, the 2002 game was quite memorable and Italy were the better team, amazing we didnt get at least a draw, but Croatia messed it up anyway and still went out in the GS losing to Ecuador on the final game.

Even the 2-1 goal was pure luck.
