Denmark - Portugal (Wednesday 18:00)

Must win for Portugal and I guess Denmark would be satisfied with a draw with the knowledge that Holland are to play Germany.

Denmark showed they can defend and counter well, but I think Portugal know they need the points and will get them this time. I think Ronaldo will score first goal aswell. I hope Postiga doesnt play alm:

I believe we will win. Against Germany, when after being down on the score, we showed some very good attacking moves and we were very close to break what should be a better defence that the Danish one.

Not sure really, Denmark have been known even in your qualification group to be really tight defensively and Germany are seen as more expansive than defensively sound. Though Group B opening games were really cagey. Hopefully tomorrow they really show the best especially Portugal and Holland. Would love this group to have all teams on 3 points tomorrow

I always wonder why people give so much credit to what happens in the qualifiers when it's more than proven that they have very little reflection on what ends up happening in the final stages of this type of majour tournaments.

In fact, even if we take the qualifiers into account, the only reason why Denmark won our group was not so much because they beat us in Copenhagen or because of their viking catenaccio. It was more a case of Portugal giving away precious points with some shambolic defending on the home game against mighty Cyprus (4-4) and playing one of the most horrendous matches in the recent history of our NT in Oslo against Norway (0-1). Those were the dark ages of Carlos Queiroz as our NT manager. As soon as Paulo Bento took over we dispatched the Danes in Lisbon with a very flattering (for them) 3-1. But all that is history and tomorrow it will be another story.

Even still Danes proved to be defensively sound in the opening game and in fact probably the most impressive in that area. Holland's best chance came in the end because of the GK mistake.

However to defend well also requires some luck, especially if they will allow players like CR7 shoot from range, he can always score from distance.

If Germany vs Holland would be the earlier game i think Denmark would be in a better situation depending of the result of that game, but now its a bit different, but draw wouldnt be the worst result, but if Germany dont beat Dutch they will take the last game against Denmark very seriously and i cant really see Denmark getting anything against Germany if Germany really need a result in Group Stage last match.

Denmark defended well against Holland but the fact they were not massacred in that game was simply due to the atrocious finishing of Van Persie, Robben, Sneijder and tutti quanti. Holland had 28 shots in that game of which 20 were off target...and don't forget that Sneijder bullet that hit the post.

Holland didn't create that many great chances against the Danes. It's been overplayed and is a bit of a myth.

This is a tough one to predict.

I can't see Denmark winning this game but they are capable of avoiding defeat.

Maybe a draw.

Denmark the favourites in this one. I think it will be a close game though.

People keep downplaying Denmark, but these guys are masters of looking average, but playing huge in critical moments.

It would not surprise me at all if they win the group.

As many as Munich did against Chelsea surely.

Nah, they'll play us off the park, just like Germany did.

Did they? Who knows.

The point is it is being vastly overplayed by many how many "great" chances Holland apparently missed in the match. Of course they had a few but not as many as some may make you believe.

Filipe put up a stat of Holland's shots on goal against the Danes. I can quite believe those stats because Holland had so many shots from distance against the Danes. Speculative shots.

The Danes did a good job against the Dutch in frustating them and those that will only think the reason Denmark won that match was because of terrible Dutch wastefulness are not really giving the Danes enough credit.

Don't know why. Dutch sympathisers perhaps.

I don't know, I want Holland to go through. So I want to see a draw or a Portugal win. Then in the last match, Holland will face Portugal.

Portugal became a counter attacking team. They were such an attacking team before.

I don't want to see Denmark qualify. Nothing against them, but I just don't like teams parking the bus. Call it exquisite tactics or great chess game strategy, to me, it's doesn't require much thinking.
