Ukraine - Sweden [Monday 20:45 CET]

Probable lineup for Sweden:

Isaksson

Lustig - Mellberg - Granqvist - M. Olsson

A. Svensson - Källström

Toivonen - Elm

Ibrahimovic

Elmander

What are your predictions?

Paulie: You're not gonna believe this. He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

Christopher: His house looked like shit!

I think we can beat Ukraine, although it wont be easy given that they are hosts.

The only real concern for us regarding player availability is the fitness of Elmander who hasn't played in the friendlies prior to the tournament(because he was injured).

As for result:
win by the odd goal
1-0 or 2-1

Ukraine and Sweden are both offensive sides, who are weak in defense. I think that this will be a end to end match, probably scoring 5 or 6 goals in the match. My other half is Ukrainian so I pick Ukraine cause I almost feel Ukranian, and because Shevechenko is in his last tournament before he retires, and he will give 120%.

I also feel that Ibra doesn't perform too well for Sweden, meanwhile Ukraine has more offensive talents in their XI.

Beforehand I see two possible scenarios: A tough match that ends up in a draw, or Sweden unleash hell on Ukraine and we beat them comfortably. I don't even want to think about a loss.

It will be tough as playing the host nation always is but i'm confident we can win. Ibra to score twice and show why he's the best player in the tournament.

I'm feeling optimistic. If Ibra has a good game, we'll take this. I don't think he's ever been in such good form going in to a tournament for Sweden before.

Well, he's was carrying injuries in 06 and o8 that saw him sit out a lot of the games, so that's not exactly shocking. But I agree, he's in fine form, and plays in the perfect position.

4 years ago I might have been inclined to agree, but Sweden play a pretty positive brand of football under Hamrén. Ibra in his natural playmaker position is quite a feast for the eyes as well, especially against teams that don't have a great defense. For that reason I don't see this becoming a boring 0-0 or 1-1 game.

I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of chances both ways.

You're a dumbass who knows nothing about football by the looks of your ignorance. Sweden and Ukraine both attack and love a fast pace game..

You're an Italian fan, and you don't think they play boring?
Obviously you haven't watched Sweden or Ukraine, I have and they both don't defend well, and it should be an attractive game to watch.

i actually think Ibra wont be himself, and i wouldnt understmite ukraine defense, Shevchuk is and realy experienced, Khacheridi is also very talented and great, and do i realy need to say anything about Mykhalyk? who didnt play alot this season in Dinamo Kyiv, but still a great defender.

i actually think ukraine attacking side isnt that great, Yarmolenko is overrated, he has the talent but his not an impressive finisher, about Voronin he's not so good anymore..

about sweeden, they maybe got a strong attacking side with Larsson, Ibra, but their defence is also very soild.

i didnt get how you all decided both teams gonna play offensive, but if they will, i will be more than happy.

and anywayz, we got 3 more hours, so lets wait and see

I can gaurentee you the Sweden-Ukraine match will be a joy to watch from what I've seen with the two nations. The Ukrainian defense in my opinion is their weak point, or maybe it's the keeper but he makes the defense look bad. I like the Ukraine offense, and they've got Schevechenko who is still fit, Milevskiy you forgot to mention who is their best offensive player in my opinion.

Scheve played less than 16 game this year not because he was injured, he wasnt good enough.
i also saw him this year with dinamo in the EL, and also in israel btw, and hes realy not the same player you remember. i also dont think hes gonna play today..

Against Austria they played an open game, which could have been because they got behind by a free kick early where the keeper didn't even move. From what I've seen in their preperation, they're going to put it all out there.. I hope they don't defend with 9 men like Italy did because then they will bow out without any respect.
