If the come out of their group then they have every chance because sometimes playing tough teams already is a good prep for the knockouts. Still, I am going against them, but they will be thereabouts.

IMO, they are favourites to win the title. Obviously Spain is the team to beat being the current European and World Champions and having the base of the best team in the world currently (despite Barcelona´s defeat to Chelsea).
But Germany has history and tradition and above all the strong mentality and that is what always makes the Germans go far. So despite having a tough group I would bet they will advance from it.

I voted they will win the tournament. They have a balanced team and their renovation was well made. But football is the most loved sport in the world because it brings surprises, so they obviously got to be careful.

So you guys are seeing a Germany Vs. Spain final again?

If Germany win their group, and you would think they will pass whoever comes out of Group A, in the semi's they will face one of England/France/Italy before a potential matchup with Spain in the final. If Germany finish runners-up in B, they will face Spain in the semi's.

Most likely semi-final scenario is

Germany vs. France/England/Italy
Netherlands vs. Spain

but you never know, there is always one outsider in the semifinals

I hope Germany win it, maybe you can't use Barca's failure for Spain's future, but I get the sense in a one-off match they can lose to a team like France, Netherlands or England even. Even in 2010 they came close to losing some of their knockouts and in 2008 Italy took them to penalty kicks

I don't see any really special players on Germany. This is what worries me for them.

When you say "special" you mean like Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo right? Because Germany has great players.

Maybe not having these "special" players makes them an even stronger team because that is what Germany is about. Hardworking team, with discipline and organization. With mediocre players they always reached the moneytime, with very good players they have today they certainly should be considered favourites together with Spain.

I certainly wouldn't mind the extra pay check

But I've got a feeling. Don't know why.

As regards the Euro tournaments I watched the clear favorite NT win just in 1984 (France), 2000 (France again) and 2008 (Spain). I challenge anyone to tell me he predicted the winners of 1992 (Denmark) and 2004 (Greece), while in 1988 the Netherlands won but the favorite team were Germany (the hosts), in 1996 a pool of teams, among which the winner Germany, but mostly England (the hosts).
So 3 times the clear fav, 2 times one among the favs but not the clear one, 2 times a total outsider.

I hope they do win it, but they need to prove it against Spain (if they meet). Last two times they played each other the Germans played like pussies for some reason.

Germany have a tough group, but should progress where they also should have an "easy" route to the semi's at least. If they win their group they avoid Spain until the final and play a team like Italy/France/England in the semi's

What's Germany's best XI? How do Kroos, Gotze, Schurrle and Reus fit in? Everytime I've watched Germany with Kroos in the side he's been the best player IMO, except when Gotze owned Brazil

Scweinsteiger is vital for Germany IMO, but he just got back from injury. Let´s see how his form will be in the Euro.
