Which team will you support in Euros?

Just to see how many on XT will support who... For some it's an obvious answer, but others maybe not so.

Italy is my main team of course.

I think that Netherlands will win it all, so I will be rooting for them throughout. I doubt they get eliminated in the Group of Death during the Group Stage. And I think they can beat any team in the final, but should want to avoid Spain the most. Spain just has a lot of great individuals, the team chemistry is great, etc. Although the Dutch have their fair share of stars in Van Persie, Kuyt, etc. A 2010 World Cup Final rematch would very entertaining, just like it was when it happened.

Croatia, but I also hope Poland do well in this tournament

For the "top" teams, I only like Germany and hope they win the tournament (as my team has no chance, getting out of the group is going to be a success). I just hope England have a poor tournament, always cheer against them, probably the team I dislike the most.

Mostly due to their media and some fans, too arrogant/cocky for a team who has done so little at the international level. Just watch the ENG-GER pregame from the World Cup, they were cocky even after barely getting out of an 'easy' group for World Cup standards. I'm sure the other big nations have cocky/arrogant media, but its just we are exposed to the English much more here in the US, I mean 90% of our analysts are pretty much British, and mostly delusional to boot. Robbie Mustoe seems to be the one who doesn't over-hype England and actually respects teams outside of the traditional powers

Which leads me to another pet peeve with their commentators (which we get here in the US). Anytime a team outside the traditional powers beats England its always "certainly its their most famous victory!" like Croatia in Wembley 2007. Yeah, what about Croatia beating Germany 3:0 at a World Cup quarters Martin Tyler? That results was more historic than what was a meaningless qualifier for Croatia at that time. Or when Gary Neville basically calls Napoli a shit team during commentary, or we get Ray Wilkins cumming over Tottenham etc...

At least this year they seem to have lowered their expectations, but you know once they win their first game in Euro they will go back to their antics. End of rant...p

Yeah I pretty much understand you especially after the post comments of the qualifiers you guys knocked England out of Euro 2008.

I am divided in this issue, I actually like England and want them to do well, their fans (not all of them of course) make a nice atmosphere in the competitions, plus the fact that the main mentality is to go there and do your best, honour the shirt, this pleaeses me (of course it is not exclusive for England, I am pretty much sure that in Balkan countries like Croatia this is evident and I respect that. Actually I remember in a pre match against Israel in the qualifiers you guys discussing that the team was lacking a bit of it right?).

England may not be the best team in the world, but it has good players, I believe what happens comes from the media in which I completely agree with you, are a bit arrogant generally speaking and place an incredible pressure on the team. This arrogance makes them think that excluding the big and traditional sides no one plays football.

I don't back any side above all others unconditionally. I always like to see France and Portugal do well, but the more Milan players that feature for Italy the more I like to see the Azzurri do well. Also I've always had a soft spot for Croatia since '96 - '98.

As Spain have won the last Euro and the World Cup, I'd rather see someone else win it. However, I'll be in Spain during the majority of the tournament (last day I'm there will be the day of the final) so I may get caught up in the local support. With the football they're capable of playing it is hard not to. On that subject, being relatively neutral I'll root for any team that plays good football and makes the tournament a memorable one. Which I am sure it will be.

Thank you I didn`t observed that

Maybe Denmark has the advantage because they don`t have the pressure over them while the others of the group have the obligation to go through and one of them at least will go home early.

Out of the nations which have a realistic chance of winning I'm rooting for Netherlands.

Besides Russia I don't really have a rooting interest. Brazil is the team I sympathize with when Russia's not involved but they obviously don't come into the equation this time around.
