Estonia v Ireland

On paper this looks like an easy prediction. Ireland should be the team who go through here, but Estonia have upset the likes of Serbia and Slovenia and are clearly a squad who feel comfortable playing together, even without any real stars. Armenia were similar and gave Ireland all kinds of trouble in the last game, so this could be closer than we think. With that though, I predict Ireland to come through, maybe by a single goal.

On paper clearly Ireland would be considered to be the absolute favourite, but you canīt simply ignore the fact that Estonia has reached the playoffs leaving behind Serbia and Slovenia like Deano said.

But I still believe Ireland will go through since Estonia isnīt used to this moneytime situations.

Ireland will win easy, Estonia had an easy group. Well done to them but Latvia and Lithuania could have got a second place finish in the group.

Group of Russia, Armenia, Slovakia, Macedonia, Andorra vs Italy, Serbia, Slovenia, Northern Ireland and Faroe Islands. Looks quite the same to me, expect for Italy being way stronger than Russia and also Faroe Island is also not that huge beating boy as Andorra. Armenia were good in these qualifiers, but Armenian good could be converted to Serbian bad.

Estonia FTW. Though Ireland are a solid team who can in every sense go through. But then Estonia has some good players in Vassiljev, Pareiko,Klavan,Piiroja etc. Hoping a fairy tale.

If Ireland win, we will make it hard for ourselves. For me that's what it comes down to. Not how well Estonia play...simply how badly Ireland play. We are playing really bad football at the moment and I do not know how we managed to get some of the results we did this year.

The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scots as a joke, but the Scots haven't seen the joke yet.

Ireland is a very overrated team and they did nothing worth mentioning in the qualifying campaign (got 6 points off Armenia...is that supposed to impress me?)

Estonia will "shock" and make it through, this tournament's Latvia of 2004.

Republic of Ireland 5 – 0 Northern Ireland
Republic of Ireland 1 – 0 Scotland
Macedonia 0 – 2 Republic of Ireland
Italy 0 – 2 Republic of Ireland
Republic of Ireland 0 – 0 Croatia
Republic of Ireland 0 – 0 Slovakia
Russia 0 – 0 Republic of Ireland
Andorra 0 – 2 Republic of Ireland
Republic of Ireland 2 – 1 Armenia

You're right...Since May, we've let in one goal against Armenia. Very overrated.

We only beat Northern Ireland 5-0.

Here are Estonia's results since May:

*Italy 3–0 *Estonia
*Faroe Islands 2–0 *Estonia
*Chile 4–0 *Estonia
*Uruguay 3–0 *Estonia
*Turkey 3–0 *Estonia
*Slovenia 1–2 *Estonia
*Estonia 4–1 *Northern Ireland
*Northern Ireland 1–2 *Estonia
*Estonia 0–2 *Ukraine

You're right...Ireland really are the overrated team.

The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scots as a joke, but the Scots haven't seen the joke yet.

Estonia managed to loose againt the Faroes and yet made the play-offs tnx to some results of other teams. the Irish have a good team, I dont think they will miss a tournament this time, they r better. although, I always like surprises at the EUROs.

yeah it's probably Ireland

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Great win. Some crazy tackling by the Estonians caused the number of goals but I think we would have won anyway.

Good luck to Estonia in the future. They have some good players that can strike from long range but Ireland as usual under Trap defended great and now we have next June to look forward to.

I hope we get England I love derby games
